The CEO of John Lewis is apparently woke but exactly what does this mean in this context?

I'm not sure that's wholly true. John Lewis is relatively pricey and for that you'd expect a better quality of service and that's not true anymore. That along with people tightening their belts and as you say - a move to online shopping...

I think I'd get much more considered answers here. I'm trying to establish whether the definition of woke has morphed.
