It another bad day here with ads JUMPING all over the page. I'll start to read or scroll and a great big hole will appear. The page jumps up and down and then an ad fills the hole.
It makes AB even more exasperating and really difficult to cope with. Another reason to stay away.

I hope you have more success than me. My pleas have been totally ignored so far by Management (or should that be Mismanagement).
I'd be gone without the unmentionable.

I'm not terribly hopeful Canary.

Sometimes the unmentionable is very tempting TTT.
If you can take screenshots and email them to the ed - it might help
Nothing will happen until/unless:
1) somebody makes a huge donation
2) the site is taken over by new owners
Yes it's really annoying .
I'm using a mobile on AB
I no longer even attempt to use AB on anything smaller than a laptop because the layout is such a mess due to the ads.
>>> . . . the site is taken over by new owners

It's only a year since it was!

I'm not sure it's possible to take screenshots of jumping ads.
If you're using a reasonably recent version of Windows, hit Windows+G.

I'm on a tablet.
Glad I’m not the only one with this problem then …..I’m lucky if I see two lines on a thread, the rest is covered by ads and look out if you inadvertently tap one, you’re knee deep in all sorts of rubbish !!

The adverts take a couple of seconds to load, once they have loaded then there shouldn't be a problem.

If the community wants to see fewer or potentially no adverts on The AnswerBank then we would need a number of regular donators. Currently, we only have three regular patrons.

Revenue from the advertisements has reduced month after month in the past couple of years, which is why we struggle to devote resources towards the site. This is why we initially introduced the donation option and this is why you're now experiencing intermittent full-page advertisements.

At present, adverts on The AnswerBank are the only way we can ensure continual maintenance, which usually involves community management, processing user reports, moderator actions, hosting infrastructure and any development time we can spare.

Twice this morning I've tapped on an item in Latest Posts, only to have a full page ad come up and completely cover the page.

Yes, it does take a few seconds...seems like more...for the ads to load. It's the constant jumping that's become impossible to deal with. I'll tap on 'next ' in a multi page thread...and get the next thread instead. If that makes sense.
Increasing advertisements is the only option we have to keep AnswerBank afloat at this time. Please, have some patience with the full-page adverts.
Hi SpareEd, what news on the January proclamation:
‘ Despite this, we are hopeful that you will see some new features added to The AnswerBank in the upcoming months which we hope you'll be happy with and will mean you'll continue to support the work we're doing to keep Answerbank moving forward’ ?
Just to agree with Pasta, twice this morning I have clicked on the normal red link to open a thread from latest posts and it's taken me to an advert, not the thread - and I'm on a big screen laptop at the moment (ie I didn't miss click)
OK. We will ask our advertisers to turn off the intermittent full-page advertisements.
It's not just the ads that make folk stay away or not donate.

Dave and I donated and intended to do so regularly. I changed my mind when a mod started to tell me where not to post, what not to post. When I commented in news recently that mod said they would leave the thread until someone more interesting posted. Being constantly belittled by a mod should not happen if the site is to thrive.

I know that the childish bickering has also caused some to leave the site.
