got to get immigration down to tens of thousands canary no matter how much suffering and damage it inflicts
Just so we’re clear, how are you tying-in compassionate conservatism to this situation. It would seem to be the opposite (or are you being ironic?).
The son seems to suffer from that common condition of entitlement.

The application went in, was considered and was rejected but of course this is a very special case which needs rules waived according to an interested party.

Taxi to the airport please.
On the average sized globe, you can cover the UK with the tip of one finger. I'm fed up with foreign folk and home grown idealistic liberals who treat the UK as if it's the world's lifeboat. We're not, we have overstressed welfare, health, education, and housing systems to name but a few, and we, as a nation, owe £2.5 trillion (that's 12 zeroes). My toddler grandsons will still be paying that off when they're my age.
Compassionate Conservatism is the perfect definition of an oxymoron, accent on the 'moron' bit.
This will be some TROB civil servant trying to make a point. Shame common sense has been abolished.
Perhaps the son should have stayed with his aging mother in Morocco instead of leaving her without nearby family
If she is allowed to stay, after a u turn, will he pay for her keep or will she claim benefits including disability, get a free house?

Meaning of TROB please.
From the article....
"According to Zak, the Home Office gave “no real explanation as to why” the application was rejected, and said he has spent nearly £10,000 on solicitors fees, insurance and other costs in order to submit the application correctly. He said: “It cost me nearly £10,000 in fees to the Home Office, solicitors, insurance and everything."

Whys he gone to the press rather than back to ask his solicitors what the reasons was???
It's our old friend the race card bob!
TTT
you seem to have an issue with the civil service!

Maybe the cs officer tried everything in their power to get the lady permission to stay but were unable to.

The rules are there for a reason me old china!
He should look n the bright side, he won't have to worry about her freezing this winter in Tangiers
//Meaning of TROB please.//

The Right On Brigade.
wiltsman; I think it means The Right On Brigade.
Surely if the answer to my question asking what does TROB mean and I'm given the answer 'The Race Card Bob', why weren't the original initials TRCB?
Trying to fathom out some of the initials scattered around on this site baffle me.
I apologise for my colleague's failure to reply him/herself. I know it's not RO to apologise on behalf of someone else, so I apologise on behalf of myself for being RO.
toratoratoras race card post was to me explaining why his gone to the press, he wasnt answering your Q
Thank you New Judge and Athiest for taking the trouble to answer. I'll now say TTFN.
“ ToraToraTora This will be some TROB civil servant trying to make a point. ”

what point is that and what evidence do you have that this is true?

he wants her here so that he can care for her…

the man owns a successful small business and fortunately has 10,000 to spare on trying to get his mum over like a good son… unfortunately the fact that he runs a business means he is unable to go and take care of her in morocco
