When The Queen sadly passes away I do hope that contributors can differentiate between the office and the person and the normal vitriol against the monarchy can be, at least, suspended for a short time.
// why doesn't he take his bro - not the wife - along with him? //

royal protocol. even if they were besties, they wouldn't be allowed to fly together.
It's senile purpura, not uncommon for someone her age:

Thank you, Goodgoalie.
I reckon she's on her way out. She's very elderly, I know, but it will be a sad day when she dies.

DTC, //why doesn't he take his bro ..//

His 'bro' is a grown man. He can go if he chooses to go.
It doesn’t sound good.
Usually announcements say there’s no cause for concern.
Or say nothing
//He can go if he chooses to go.//

You reckon?

He can go if she lets him, but she wont.

consider that PP is compos mentis
compos mentissimus ( I think ABers can cope with that, dog Latin tho it may be)

Purple hands - yes - I thought they were liver patches you get in old people when they bleed into the skin ( as part of old age).

I was referring Paigntone - to the stabbing in the back of Boris and of the Quote in the Times yesterday - how HE ( Boris that is) felt he has been done in ( "but that is how it is folks!")

" folded in a robe, done in with a black handled dagger in a murderous cauldron bath!" or something ( Cassandy) (*)

and Boris with the cartoon of "et tu Brute" done in before the statue of Pompey the Great - which was doing the rounds a few weeks ago

(*) big translation difficulties - it is deffo - "with a black horn" (melanchtho kerw) and not "made OF black horn", which would at least make sense
(*) eye witness acct in de divinatione (cicero) surprisingly - in quo cruciatu animo....

someone asked, someone asked chrissakes
Paigntonian, I dislike the Monarchy.

I tolerate the Queen and recognise what she has done. But the other dim wits can do one as far as I am concerned. And I shall continue to say that whatever you wish, it is not vitriol it is what I firmly believe.
I agree with Ichkeria. You don't get the whole family rushing to a bedside unless things are really bad.

eek some latin I forgot oops
senile purpura = liver patches
senile got forbidden twenty y ago ( like died , no no - passed)
senile = of old age

purpura is greek, not doing well ( me)
Let this elderly woman get into comfortable clothing ( dressing gown) . Keep her hydrated, few visitors , her choice. Into a bed or comfy chair .
Let nature take it’s course . A wee libation and her favourite cake will do her no harm .
Young. You've missed the point. I am no fan of the monarchy either. I simply asked that I hoped people differentiate between the person and the office and give the lady some respect should she shortly die.

Hey hey - - can I say.....
Harry Harry ( yeah) Your mother is ill ( oh is she?)
voice off - time for a few new dresses !
( cruel PP - o miser PP)

I am not the first I see

I am - for the Queen, on my knees, rosary out, singing in Latin
indeed anne, rather than killing her in time for the morning papers as they did with her grandfather.
YMB, //He can go if she lets him, but she wont. //

I think she would welcome him ... but Charles and William might have something to say about it. Best he stays away really. He's caused the poor lady enough grief. She needs peace now.
No surprise but I am sorry to hear this. She must be a very troubled grandmother what with Andrew and H&M.
jno: the nastiness starts and she isn't even dead yet
In the last few minutes it's been suggested that Prince Charles and Prince William are on their way. That seems to me to suggest that they're seriously worried, it seems a lot to ask them to travel if she's just needing a spot of bed rest.

I wonder if, finally, she is in her last days.
