Not a Brummie! But yes, regularly coming off M6 from the north and into Birmingham city centre. Aptly named. The junction has had a lot of work done to it over the years, mainly to do with concrete and steel reinforcement.

I thought they'd been working on it for years already!
yeah it has always looked like a work in progress

because and so it is so large - city centre interchange is not the whole thing - it is the largest interchange in Europe - 180 000 cars an hours

now this is what I call REAL NEWS !!!
I use to use it a lot in the 80s+ 90s when I had a car and a motorbike.
Not a Brummy ( but not far away ), driven on through 'Spaghetti' many many times ( usually on my way to Villa Park ), there's always work ongoing there.
Meanwhile just up the road ( no pun intended ) at junction 10 ( nearest motorway junction to me, some proper work being done.

Its a well thought out piece of engineering brilliance.
Last time I was on it we were stuck in a traffic jam for over an hour and a half. I was going to a family funeral in Wales and I was so glad I had decided to travel the day before!
I'd like to think it was just to keep the natives in ;-)
Traffic jams are pretty normal ( at certain times of the day ) at that junction, choux, especially since the Aston Express way has been closed down for 'Improvements' !
ArksidedI'd like to think it was just to keep the natives in ;-)

Only the Blues lot ;-)
Yes Mr.AV that's whom I meant.
Of course you did, Arky. I knew that :-)
It can be a mare. Every year, on our way South we have the ritual of holding our breath from the end of the M54 to J8 on the M5. Get it wrong over the Tame and you are gonna lose a lot of time. How the folk who live there put up with it I cannot imagine. (not you AV, I know that you are made of stern stuff)
Smooth ;-)
Yep, when you leave the M54 and get to Junction 10 M6 stay in the left hand lane to make sure that there ain't any *** up at the M5 intersection, Togo.
and they say only the Great Wall of China can be seen from space.
Not a Brummy ( but not far away ), I know, you're a yam yam.
^^^^^Yam dead roit ah kid :-)
Tim Spall the best non Brummie ever, as Barry from Auf Pet and Andy in Red Dwarf:
