I would be interested in your views of this case, and the sentence of 10 years. Some people say they got what they deserved. ?

Some will say that, I won't - he committed a crime.

10 years? double it imo.
According to that link it was a very lucky thing that he didn't kill an innocent road user - he was certainly driving recklessly and dangerously.
He claimed that the thief lost control of the bike. Hardly surprising as he was being chased and had been rammed five times. It's the right sentence.
"Some people say they got what they deserved. - well I suppose their deaths are completely under their own control.
I can't justify my view but on first reading sentence far too harsh if you're interested. Petty crime like this (stealing of property) can be devastating to innocents.
10 years seems a bit harsh.
Someone steals your bike and you get 10 years.
Yes, the perpetrator should be punished but he did overreact.
5years perhaps?

The reason I asked is it that the majority of of comments on line are along the lines of. They got what they deserved. Another low life out of action. Etc etc. I do feel uncomfortable with this attitude to a loss of life. But I can also see why some people, maybe victims of criminal theft should feel that way.
I get fed up with people saying prison doesn't work. Yes it does. It means that a scumbag can't rape my wife or my daughters.
When you have been the victim of a crime (any crime) it's understandable to think what you'd like to do to the perpetrator - to act it out is another matter entirely.
No sympathy for the thief.

Not sure about the bloke jailed...would have to read more about it.
Saw a programme on TV last night following a "HART" ambulance team attending a few incidents. One of these involved a speeding car hitting a pedestrian crossing the road and killing him. The driver was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving - he got 3 1/2 years in prison. Just saying.

@19.00.Me neither.I wonder what jobs these low-lives were employed at.Apart from being career criminals that is.
The police said he should have reported it to them.......so they could have knocked them off the bike, presumably.
That's not vigilante. That's a reaction.
Perhaps it is time we had more"vigilantes"and less coppers. The police force nowadays seem more to be a section of the social work department rather than a crime solving and detection department of government. The cops prefer to go after the easy targets rather than the real criminals.
Appalling behaviour...dangerous to any other road user and passer by. Moronic idiot is being punished according to the law...Jolly good. We don't operate an eye for an eye judicial system here

That's Police Service, Mfanwwy, do keep up.
Paigntonian; I know it's a big ask (as they say nowadays) but could you not have some of the goodness, wisdom and forgiveness of Jesus in your heart? What did he say to the two thieves who flanked him on his cross?
This type of incident always divides the AB community down the middle, each thinking the other is wrong.
"What did he say to the two thieves who flanked him on his cross?"

I can see my house from here?
