//A Saudi pilot who killed three people on a US airbase in Florida had called America a "nation of evil" and quoted Osama bin Laden in social media posts hours before opening fire, according to an extremism monitoring group.

The killer, a member of the Royal Saudi Air Force who had been training at the Pensacola airbase, was shot dead by a sheriff's deputy.

He has not been formally identified, although Reuters quoted two unnamed officials as saying he was Second Lieutenant Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani.

The SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks Islamist extremism online, said that he had posted on Twitter about US wars in the Middle East shortly before the shootings.

Police have said they are investigating whether the attack was terror-related...//

Your usual response.

I imagine that in face-to-face conversation, you provide a creditable impression of the late Michael Foot.

Whenever questioned by an interviewer, he would preface his response with a little sarky half-laugh which said non-verbally "I am amazed that you would trouble my planet-sized intellect with such a facile question, but since you have, I will deign to give it my fleeting attention and then patronise you within an inch of your life to reassure myself that I am your intellectual superior, even though I am possibly not, but my insecurity makes that my default position.
None so blind.

And there's me thinking that personal attacks are against the rules. As I said you're at liberty to check out anything I say on this subject or any other I post on. If I don't know I'm happy to say I don't know - which is why I don't argue about things I'm ignorant of. That just makes people look silly.

I have no problem with anyone arguing from a position of strength, or indeed weakness.

An argument where one person clearly knows everything there is to know about a subject would be no argument at all.

But the difference is, you argue as if you do know everything about a subject, and you bring condescension into your responses as a result of your misunderstanding that you are the only expert on here.

There is ample evidence of your superior attitude on many of the threads you post on, and I am not the only one to have pointed it out.

You may know something of Islam, you may know a lot, but that does not entitle you to patronise and belittle those who simply put forward an alternative viewpoint.

Your problems aren't mine, AH.
naomi - // And there's me thinking that personal attacks are against the rules. //

You are not thin-skinned, and the role of martyr does not suit you, but if you feel I have 'attacked' you - and I know you know the difference between a comparison and an attack, then feel free to use the Reporting system.

Of course, you proudly boast that you never report anyone, so if you are not going to invoke the Rules, don't try and point them out in your defence.
Naomi - // Your problems aren't mine, AH. //

You said that yesterday - it made no sense then either.
Question Author
AH. If you don't understand that, I'll put it another way. Your problems are your own. Better?
Naomi - // AH. If you don't understand that, I'll put it another way. Your problems are your own. Better? //

I didn't say I didn't understand it - I said it makes no sense, the two are not connected.

I understand if someone says the earth is flat, but it makes no sense.

Someone of your much-trumpeted intellect should be able to work that out.
Question Author
AH, I'm not interested in your problems. They're your problems - not mine.
naomi - // AH, I'm not interested in your problems. They're your problems - not mine. //

Another point you fail to understand, I have no problems!

Unburdened as I am by the curse of an imagined superior intellect compelled to cast pearls before swine, with a Sisyphus complex as wide as it is high.

But enough spatting, we are both diverting the thread with our personal exchanges, let's draw a line and debate the issue.
Question Author
Not interested.
Naomi - // Not interested. //

In returning to the thread, or continuing to lose an argument?

I am returning to the thread, I'll leave you to carry on with your 'education'.
Naomi if you're interested or not, maybe let people comment instead of trying to suppress their answers.
If you're not interested, don't open a thread about this topic for discussion. Or ae you only interested in answers you agree with?
Question Author
What do you have to say on the subject, TD? Tell me. I'm interested?
I say america is full of evil but I wouldn't say it's a nation of Evil. Little is as evil as taking innocent lives, but I guess America has done that...

Certainly not a pot kettle situation but Florida is not really an example state anyhow. Many nut jobs.
Question Author
The killer wasn't American.
You must be confused. I never said he was?
naomi - I'll probably get called a 'brown noser' again or be accused of 'grovelling', but as I'm sure you know, I care not. YOU GO GIRL ...
Imagine being a cheer leader for a slightly racial pseudo-intellectual.
