AOG and I have been adversaries for as long as he has been on the site - we cross swords most days.

We usually manage it in the spirit of mature debate occasionally one or other of us gets carried away, we calm down, we apologise, we carry on.

No need for defence, for him or I, I can assure you!

There is no 'need' for any remark by anyone on anything - but we all post as we see fit.

AOG has is agendas, I have mine, others have theirs, and an occupational hazard of having agendas is that from time to time you will get called out on them - he does, as do I - and we accept that as part and parcel of the way debate works.

I am sure anyone with children would argue the opposite position, I have never really understood why people don't have children in the first place - it's just a personal choice.

I'm inclined to agree.

All the royals are aware that people take notice of what they say on the basis of who they are, and almost all of them use that position to champion causes that are important to them individually.

They all run the risk of being accused of 'using their position', or criticised for being 'holier-than-thou', but they accept that anything beyond breathing in and out is going to attract hostility from somewhere - and sometimes even that! - it goes with the territory.

You only a few minutes ago stated that you don't have an agenda.

Perhaps another way that they could help to 'save the planet' and that would be to curb the number of times they board an airliner for their travels abroad.

Or perhaps buy a tandem for their shorter trips around their estates instead of jumping into their large gas guzzling limos.
