The constituency has a long history of floating. In 1974 it returned a Conservative in February and Labour in October. Since then it has yo-yoed at each election between Labour and Conservative.
But this time there is the Brexit Party who will probably do very well, at the expense of the Conservatives. The LibDems are unlikely to do well soitis a two horse race.
What do you think will happen:
- Brexit wins because voters have abandoned the Conservative Government and the former Labour MP left in disgrace
- Labour wins because the Tory and Brexit opposition split the anti Labour vote
- Another result/ reason, please specify.

That's great, Naomi, but I don't see how my last post was implying that in the first place. And in any case, v-e has already moaned about Postal votes; Togo wondered aloud about the importance of 20% of Peterborough's residents not being of British Descent; OG slammed the lack of courage of the voters.

There's something troubling about yet another (victorious) Labour candidate still having problems with anti-Semitism, whether that was because of malice or stupidity. But I can't not feel pleased to see that the Brexit Party has lost, which seriously undermines Farage's efforts to control the current agenda from afar.
//There's something troubling about yet another (victorious) Labour candidate still having problems with anti-Semitism//

Nevertheless you applaud her success. There's something troubling about that, Jim.
Naomi, perhaps Forbes' campaign win built around a 'message of hope', related to the Labour Party rooting out the problems of anti-Semitism!
No. I applaud the failure of the BP. There is a big difference.
How convenient Jim.
Whatever it is you're trying to imply, you're wrong. Now drop it.
Drop what? My opinion?
Not every opinion deserves to be shared.
More irony Jim.
After the uprising of the 17th of June
The Secretary of the Writers' Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?
Look, it's quite simple really, Naomi: I am glad to see the Brexit Party lose. I would, however, have far preferred to see the LibDems or Green Party win instead of Labour. Any nonsense about endorsing or supporting the "Jew hater", as v-e, put it, is just that, and if that's your opinion about how I think then your opinion is simply wrong, ill-informed, and best kept to yourself.
Yes Jim, it really is simple. The bottom line is rather than see a Brexit supporting party triumph, you prefer any result – even one that puts yet another anti-Semite into parliament. That you cannot deny.

And will you please stop telling me to keep my opinions to myself or that they don’t deserve to be shared. If you don’t like being challenged stop treating anyone who disagrees with you as an idiot.
Apologies if this has already been said - I haven't read every comment. I have just seen Farage saying Labour won because they had the data. Was he congratulating them or complaining, given his unscrupulous and illegal use of personal data during the EU referendum?
Brilliant result! I especially enjoyed discovering that Farage - who had certainly gone to Peterborough to be the centre of a victorious celebration - had quietly slipped away before the result was made public! (I have little doubt but that he already knew what it was; otherwise, why not stay?)
^Another one who doesn't object to anti-Semites being elected.
Yes the defeated Brexit Party candidate said the same thing: “Labour had the data”

Interesting
They certainly had rent-a-mob at the count. What a shower.
Naomi, you know nothing whatsoever about me or my views, other than the fact that I disagree with virtually everything you clearly hold dear!
I am not an anti-Semite and you have no evidence at all that I am. I am, however, a socialist and I celebrate a victory for Labour and a defeat for both parties of the Right in Peterborough. Yay!
Note to Farage - running off when you lose the vote is not an admirable quality in a leader.
Quizmonster, //I am not an anti-Semite and you have no evidence at all that I am.//

I didn't say you were. Simply that you don't object to an anti-Semite being elected... and you very clearly don't.
