// Speaking to the BBC this week, her lawyer said she would need to move to a Western country for her own safety. Several countries have offered her asylum.//

…but ….

Pakistan's authorities have struck a deal with a hard-line Islamist party to end the protest over her acquittal ….

As part of the deal, Asia Bibi will be barred from leaving the country, though it is unclear for how long.

The protesters will also be able to file an appeal to the Supreme Court over its decision to release her.

She was convicted in 2010 of insulting the Prophet Muhammad, but was acquitted earlier this week.

Pakistani Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry defended the agreement against allegations the government was capitulating to extremists://

Capitulation to extremists? Clearly. What now for Asia Bibi?

// Are you pleased to see Aasia has reportedly left Pakistan PP?//

yes if the report be true etc etc - more pleased to see viddie of her landing in a christian country and saying hallelujah baby
Vetuste on the BBC News at 10pm they said they had heard she had left Pakistan. So not confirmed.
That would be good PP. Very good.
A nation of ignoramuses. And then a lot of them end up here. God help us!

//matches and necklaces is Winnie ( Mandela ) innit ?
I suppose someone will say - "same really"//

It would be incredibly ignorant of anyone to say “same really”. Check out what Naz Shah said when Winnie died, Peter Pedant.
Tribune:
internal flight to Islamabad - so not out of it yet

Interior Minister says with a straight face - cannot be allowed to exit country until the rule of law has been followed .....
well really !
er Naz shah makes an arriss of herself over Winnie ( bless her too!)
and someone comments
"Stephen Calver wrote: ' Perhaps you need a history lesson... Ms Winnie Madikizela Mandela politically and morally accountable for the gross violations of human rights committed by the MUF, and that she was responsible, by omission, for the commission of gross violations of human rights."

which I kinda knew anyway and about which I think
'the same really' applies ....( er to Aasia bibi's treatment by pakistan)

a difference being - she is not dead

Not even nicely ducked, PP. Must try harder. ;o)
I am obliged you made the effort to read it
She should come here and then pull up the drawbridge.
(Well put it down again to kick a few out!)
certainly fulfils the critieria
( threat of persecution and death )

italy has added its name to the list of countries offering shelter
//And then a lot of them end up here//

Not just "them". Some of the Sharia blasphemy laws which are incorporated in the Pakistani constitution(the bits about insulting the "Prophet o)f Islam" are part of Austrian criminal law as we saw in the case of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. As the conviction of ES has recently been upheld unanimously by the ECHR precedent has been set for the criminalisation of blasphemy against Islam throughout Europe.

Don't be daft, v_e. Everyone knows they all abandon their unsavoury notions the moment they hit European shores.
Question Author
Latest from the BBC: //Some reports say Asia Bibi has boarded a plane but its destination was not known.//

Let's hope she's away.
Question Author
where will she go that she is safe, i would welcome her to the UK, as i am sure many others would, but feel with our own Islamic Preachers giving out their fire and brimstone, she won't be any safer here.
Would you recognise her in the street? I wouldn't.
no of course not, but the diehards would know who she was in UK>
You have to feel for the poor Islamist savages...not knowing whether to march and riot or not.

It must be hell for them.
