Is the world going mad?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6195853/Credit-Suisse-boss-dresses-woman-slammed-appearing-100-women-list.html

I suspect I'm going to be lambasted by some, but this is absurd isn't it?

I can't get on board with all this 'gender fluidity' nonsense, and therefore this story would normally amuse me, but the fact that people are taking this sort of patent ridiculousness seriously suggests to me that people are losing the plot.

Some people are becoming so achingly right-on that they're endorsing rubbish like this - I genuinely find it head-scratching.

If Billy Vunipola decides that at the next women's rugby world cup he's going to 'identify' as a woman for the duration, would he be allowed to play? And if not, why not?

Can I self-identify as a woman on Monday evening when I go swimming, because there's an absolutely stunning yummy-mummy that goes, and I'd like to see her getting changed? And if not, why not?

Yes, my tongue is firmly wedged in my cheek - but I think it has to be when faced with this sort of total cobblers.

I think the thing that might be difficult to grasp is that whatever people want to identify themselves as, I couldn’t really be arsed. Doesn’t affect me.

Ah, I'm alright jack.
Yes... I take my 2 year old granddaughter swimming. For all sorts of reasons, I would not be comfortable getting changed next to a man. Yes, that is bigoted perhaps. But why is 'not offending a man' so much more important than female safety?
How many women would be robbed of a career/living by men being able to identify as a woman?

Do you not care about that, sp?
Yep the maths is correct. So if something doesn't affect me I shouldn't care? I'm stunned.
If a man has shown full commitment to becoming a woman by undergoing 'complete reassignment' and to all intents and purposes has become indistinguishable from a CIS female, then I would have no objection to her appearing in a 'Top Women' list.

I am very uneasy with those who are self-determining being able to join in womens' events, etc. simply because they have decided to dress as a women for the duration.

Caster Semenya is not now, nor has ever been, a man.
He is, Jack. He has a Y chromosome for a start. So he is not female in any case. Then, no ovaries or uterus. But has testes. He is biologically a man, no matter how he has been brought up.
No amount of denying biology or the truth actually changes it.
A man cannot change into a woman. Check out Germaine Greers take on it.
Caster Semenya can be described, at worst, as Intersex meaning her body does not conform to traditional male or female physiques. She has a condition known as hyperandrogenism, which causes some women to produce higher levels of male sex hormones such as testosterone.
The results of her much-trumpeted physical examination have never been made public, as far as I am aware, so I'd be interested to read where there is a report that she has no uterus/ovaries but has testes instead.

Just google- it is on the majority of reports. A Y chromosome always starts a foetus transitioning to male. If the two processes don't happen completely- rare, but possible- you have a male that is more feminine. He is absolutely not female. Intersex- possibly, but genetically and biologically male.
Coming late into this. IMO whatever you are born as that is your gender. If for some unfortunate reason you feel otherwise and I totaly understand that, then you do as you have to do. When it comes to such things as competitions or whatever they are....I cannot see anyone can be out in for anything unless the rules are adhered to. You are either born male or female....that's it and the way you live your life maybe different to the gender into which you were born. Only my opinion guys....
No, it's not.
There is much speculation and an unsubstantiated report from Australia in 2009 gets a lot of repetition but there is no evidence, at all, that she has the physical characteristics you mention.
That relies upon the (unproven) Australian report...
Look at his face... that would be enough evidence for most people. Why would you believe all the reports?
Not...
In any case, intersex is nothing to do with trans.
There's no doubting that she is 'manly' in appearance.....but she is *not* a man masquerading as a woman in the same way that Philip Bunce is.
Not really heard of Semenya so have googled a fair bit. From an armchair perspective it would be difficult to be persuaded she is a woman, no breasts and absolutely no attempt to even look female. Shallow observation granted but one can hardly be surprised why one would question her being a woman.
Look at his athletic achievements- against women. Purely coincidence? Or a natural advantage?
All successful athletes have some sort of 'un/natural advantage'.
Perhaps Ian 'Thorpedo' Thorpe should only have been allowed to compete against other swimmers with size 15 feet? Perhaps 7 feet plus basketball players should have to form their own teams?
