I have zero tolerance of drink driving, and just because someone is anxious or depressed, that does not absolve them from personal responsibility for their actions. No-one is so depressed that they don't realise that drink driving is wrong and life endangering not just to themselves but to other people. I have a great deal of sympathy of anyone who has addiction issues and mental health issues but if you do, then you should not put yourself in a scenario where you are tempted to drive- especially when you are wealthy enough to afford a chauffeur. He really does need to heed this wake up call, and I hope a lengthy ban is imposed until he gets his act together regarding his addictions.
“I feel this is slightly ignorant towards mental health issues. Also, he's so in the spotlight, how frustrating and much pressure is that? I for one do feel sorry for him.. Not his drunk driving, but for his mental health issues. Imagine battling a thing that's been made so public. Money doesn't fix everything girl. Especially not your mental health.”

No it doesn’t but then maybe instead of putting himself “under pressure” by being on tv, partying and drunk driving he could put a tiny percentage of his £60 million pound fortune towards taking a year off to heal himself and flying out to the states to one of these infamous rehabs

If he comes back to put himself “under pressure” by working instead of taking time to address his “issues” can we then say that it’s self afflicted? Or will we still shower him with affection and sympathy even if the next time he’s paralised or killed a child with his wild living and drink drunk driving?

///I don't think anyone at all on AB would condemn Drink Driving///

Really? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I thought the majority of us did!
I too have a zero tolerance of drink driving. These days I dont get into a car if I have had a pint.

As for the day after, aloco meters are freely available he has enough money to buy decent one like I did so no excuse. It is surprising how long it can stay in you if you have a mega sess, especially if downing spirits into the early hours.

I am hoping for a lengthy ban and a significant fine coupled with community service if he is found guilty.

The time of day this incident happened is no excuse.
Kval .. spot on.
“I pressed enter too soon what I meant to add was some are willing to forgive their favourite celebrities anything”

Precisely, just look at the 1st page of this thread. The whole page was filled with sympathy and love for ant until someone actually remembered that ant had nearly killed 3 people and commented” I hope the child’s okay”

I still don’t think anyone remembers that the child was with 2 parents who were also injured.

It’s a crying shame when we’re so star struck that we forget our injured and are seconds away from constructing, getting on our hands and knees and worshipping an effigy of the celebrity no matter what horrendous and heinous crimes they’ve committed.

///Ya know what i meant.///

I know what you typed ;o)

All are equal in front of the law - some are more guilty than others.
Another thread totally ruined by nonsense.
