A honest and straight forward apology from Trump, so lest say straight away, that its a very welcome development.

But he said, 3 times, that he knew nothing about Britain First....so why did he re-tweet their posts in the first place ? Didn't he realise that his actions would be seen as giving tacit support to BF ?

I thought he was doing a Trump apology this morning on Piers Moron

- you know - "I will tell you diss - I gartta say dat when I retweeted diss, dey say dese thangs and it is false nooze - dat all it is"

Even Piers moron wasnt sure he was apologising
Spicerack, //I'm more worried about the tacit support of Islamist vermin shown by people who have nothing to say about the content of the videos.//

Tut! Didn’t you know this tacit support thing is only valid when Trump does something?
The content of the videos is in itself disputed. One of them was from the Netherlands and had nothing to do with Islam, so leave it out with this "tacit support" nonsense
Oh dear that's terrible! That could have really upset IS and their cronies.

Quizproquo....what ever we think of Trump, he is the POTUS, and is thus one of the most important political figures on the planet.

When he supports an hateful organisation like BF, he gives them a legitimacy that they don't deserve,

My point is he readily and quickly supported them, without knowing who they were. What he told Morgan ::::

"If you are telling me they're horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologise if you'd like me to do that"

He should have found out who they were, before supporting them on Twitter, because they are indeed
"horrible people, horrible, racist people"

You armchair generals really are a sorry lot. Look what the man has done in his life....then compare it to your own.
Question Author
David....tell us more about what he has done and then explain how that is relevant to the topic under debate.
Mikey, He couldn't have 'readily' supported something he knew nothing about. Try concentrating on his intention. You might begin to rationalise it then.
Question Author
Naomi....that is exactly what Trump did, by "re-tweeting" the links that BF put out.

Not sure what is so difficult to understand here.....he "re-tweeted" without knowing who BF was.
Mikey, I know ... and therefore he couldn't have been supporting BF, so why do you keep banging on about it? As far as I'm concerned anyone who gives negative publicity to Islamic extremism is doing us all a favour. Wouldn't you agree?
Question Author
Ah...so you do support BF then Naomi !
I'm happy for anyone to give Islamic extremism negative publicity. Aren't you?
Don't know what is so difficult to understand here, if I retweet something mikey wrote and I agree with, doesn't mean I agree with everything mikey writes, let alone support him.
Vulcan, well said. He might understand that. With luck you may succeed where I've failed.
Ah...so you do support BF then Naomi !

Well, it's on record that you refuse to say who are the more dangerous people ... Islamic extremists or people who are against Islamic extremism, mikey.

Ah...so you do support Islamic extremists then mikey !

Two of the videos Trump posted looked irrefutable as to their content but we are now in a world that will attack the poster of videos that do not depict Islam in its best light.

Like I would be a nasty bigot, xenophobe, racist islamaphobe and other stuff no doubt ... for posting something like this

Is it not simply that he saw Britain First as an homage to his own America First and gave support to that idea?
Now he's more informed, he's held at least one hand up as being wrong.

PS. I still think he's a mentalist.
Question Author
Dougie...then you are understanding the point that I am making !

Trump blindly supported BF, without doing any research whatsoever. The difficulty with Trump is that he tweets first and thinks second, if at all.
Mikey, could you please answer my question? Here it is again.

I'm happy for anyone to give Islamic extremism negative publicity. Aren't you?
Why not just give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know, Mikey?
Why woud he be expected to look them up when he thought he knew what it was all about?

I understand the point you're labouring to the point of appearing somewhat mulish.
