Scary man. OMG.
Mikey, //"Where was God when he was needed ?....the Law turned up too late....I am nice and safe, a long way away"//

That’s out of your own head and it’s complete and utter nonsense. No other president has addressed the issue – but hey – let’s give the impression that this sort of thing has only happened since Trump took office.
Naomi....look at his record on gun control...look at what he has said.

As long as Trump is in the White House, there is zero chance of anything useful happening.

Look at the second BBC link I have posted, and see how much worse the situation is getting. Look at what Obama and Clinton have said, and then compare that with Trump.

Both Obama and Clinton tried to do something, but Big Business, in the shape of the Gun Lobby and other friends of Trump, put paid to any improvement.

This is what Trump does....he looks after the NRA and they reward him with eye-wateringly large sums of money.
Mikey - you really can't blame any of this on Trump!!
But Trump is the most pro-gun president I've seen.
what a bonkers world we do live in. poor souls..
Mikey, I doubt the US will ever introduce appropriate laws on gun control - no matter who the president may be. That said, even if it did, people who want guns for illegal purposes will get them - as they do in every other country in the world.
I looked for questions on this on Quora the US site where I am a member. There were questions but all about ,how many shots did he fire, what caliber of ammunition was he using, what weapon was he using? In Texas supermarkets have cases of ammunition on the shelves just as we have tins of beans, you can just put them in your shopping basket and pay at the till.
Only convicted criminals or those certified as insane can be refused sale of a gun in the USA. But that does not work as private sales are legal and as long as you have the cash the seller just hands over the gun. Private sellers are supposed to check that you are not disqualified from owning a gun but VERY few bother. You do not need a licence to buy a gun just a check you are not on the disqualified list.
Trump is many things but mass shootings were happening long before he entered the white house.
Ummm...No, of course this latest outrage isn't due to Trump personally.

But Trump is paid by the Gun Lobby, so he is hardly going to do anything that would effect their business is he ?

Somebody needs to take on the issue of gun ownership seriously, but it isn't going to be Trump, that is for sure.

.
awful stuff out there really is ...as i said before they still think its the wild west out there !

Absolutely disgusting that you turn a tragedy such as this into yet another one of your regular anti-Trump posts.
America doesn't have anything remotely useful in the way of gun control, as Eddie has said, and as a result, these mass murders, by mad people are increasing.

In contrast, we here in Britain DO have gun control, and consequently do not have mass shootings. We used to have them but Dunblane changed all that. We learned our lesson the hard way, but learned it we did.

Anybody see a slight pattern developing here ?

Using the spurious argument of "people who want guns for illegal purposes will get them" is plainly daft...if that was the case, why have we not had mass shooting in Britain then ?
Mikey, //"people who want guns for illegal purposes will get them" is plainly daft..//

Of course it's not daft. People who want guns for illegal purposes do get hold of them - or do you think they don't?
By the way we have had mass shootings in the UK.

So, if guns are so easily available here in Britain, why do we not see mad people turning up at our churches, McDonalds, schools, etc, armed with automatic weapons as they do in America ?
This Quora answer to a question about the shooting just about sums up the response in the USA

Mikey, There's no suggestion that guns are as easily available here as they are in the US. Nevertheless, if people who intend to use them for criminal purposes want them, they get them. And there have been mass shootings here.
Eddie, that's an advert for gmail.
naomi, Yes I am fully aware that a UK criminal can get hold of an illegal gun, but it is expensive and risky. I also know that you can legally buy guns in the UK, we have over 3500 gun shops, but automatic self loading rifles such as the US shooters use are totally banned.
Even a rich and determined criminal in the UK would find it extremely difficult to buy such a weapon as they are so scarce.
On the other hand in Texas you can buy a small handgun and ammunition off a supermarket shelf for under £40 with just a cursory ID check.
