Making it legal could hardly be worse than the situation now.
The police ignore it as I know from personal experience , haveing reported the dealers my daughter uses. Crimestoppers are better at getting something done. At present the same dealers who sell weed also sell Cocaine and other class A drugs. Making it legal as tobacco and alcohol are would take away the reason for criminals to deal in it and reduce crime as well as ensuring it was always the same quality with no 'nasty' ingredients.

tired old story, my opinion after long consideration over the years is..
legalise it, would be a new fad for a bit, then fade out, smokers of it would say the illegal stuff was better blahblah, people who get pain relief could do so without prosecution ie the smokers of and not the medical stuff, gateway drug mmm so is beer or cider booze wise, tax it heavily and like i said would fade out..to boring
