I would hate for someone that I loved to be missing - but I don't know what the next step will be in this investigation.

Where does Saffron Walden come into it please?
I think he meant Bury St Edmunds.
Baldric Sorry, Bury St Edmunds not Saffron Walden. For some reason I get the two confused both about the same distance from me.
Talbot, The phone signal was tracked along the route from where the man was last seen towards the landfill.
It is just my idea that he may have got out of the lorry , it can hardly be a 'fact' I never said it was more than an idea.
There is a report that I only saw today that says McKeague was known to climb into bins to sleep , after getting drunk.

And I am still puzzled by his Mothers assertion, that the Police think he is still in the land fill site. //

blimey I'm not - there are a thousand things in my house I cant find which are most likely somewhere still in the house

Didnt Chairman Mao say - a march of a thousand miles begins with the first step ?
erm sorry Friday night....

That is interesting, can I have a link?
Realistically, even if the lorry stopped en route, I doubt he would be able to climb out, given the state he was in. If he did, where did he go?
Jackdaw, After it left Bury St Edmunds the lorry stopped at Barton Mills to pick up more waste. Barton Mills is also where the mobile phone signal stopped.
Again it is in the links provided.
So my idea (idea not fact) is that he may have got out when the lorry stopped. Barton Mills is mainly farm land , there are a lot of water filled ditches he could have fallen into and drowned. I don't think that area has been searched, he could be there at the bottom of a drainage ditch!
iT DOESN'T SAY WHO SAYS HE SLEEPS IN BINS AND HIS MOTHER SAYS HE HAS NEVER SLEPT IN A BIN.

Crap caps ... not typing that again

Glad I didn't take too much interest in this case.
I seen on the news where his friends said he often got into bins.

He stopped after leaving the club, got food and slept in a shop doorway so I'm not sure how drunk he would have been. Looking at the CCTV footage he doesn't actually look that drunk.

And what's his sex life got to do with anything?

Sorry Ummm his sex life should have nothing to do with it but it may have in this instance, he sex life become very public and he partook in so dodgy practices that had it become known to his employers could have seen him dismissed for bringing the RAF into disrepute.
This may or may not have something to do with him doing a runner.
Okay...I mistook the comment like he might have been involved in some sort of sexual activity the night he went missing, which is highly unlikely.

Are the RAF really that bothered about someones sex life?
Like most things not if you're open but if you partake in activities that could harm their reputation. So he was allegedly taking part in films etc that would harm their reputation. Dad says they are a lot more relaxed than they used to be.
There are reports that he was a member of the 'Dogging Community' and thus at risk of blackmail.
Blackmail for what? How high up in the ranks of the RAF was he?

I just don't understand why his sex life would be an issue.
There has just been an announcement that incinerated waste is now being searched.

Eddie....if what you say about Barton Mills is correct, then why have the Police not searched that area ?

If the Mobile signal stopped at that point, then Corrie might have left the bin lorry, taken the Mobile with him, and then come to grief in one of the water-filled ditches.
mikey that is exactly what I am thinking, Barton Mills is open farmland. Searching it thoroughly could take weeks and dozens of officers. The police still think he was in the lorry until it arrived at the landfill, that is why they are have now started to look at the waste that was incinerated. If that gets no result possibly they will consider the possibility that he got out at Barton Mills.
Ummmm, if you can't understand why it is a problem that an RAF airman is indulging in what could be described as 'perverted sexual activities' and thus open to Blackmail you must be very naive.
Eddie....I must be away to work now but I will just make this comment. If the incinerated waste is examined, what could the Police realistically hope to find ?

Incinerated sounds like a very final word to me.
