Great choice or 'political correctness gone mad'

Personally I wanted Tilda Swindon, but that was unlikely to ever happen.

Dammit I thought I was posting in this thread but it was the other one. Doh. A few years ago I’d have thought it was a daft idea but the plotlines have allowed for it, so as long as there’s some “internal” logic for it I’m not bothered. Plus I’ve been feeling for a while that it’s grown stale and complacent, and is in need of a firm kick up the rear end....

Kim Jong-un?^^ Haha.
>>>why not the lead character in a kids TV show.

KIDS tv show !!!!

Oh Dear
There's always one sneaks that in , it's the rule.
For kids?

How very dare you

Terrifying
A massive shock to the system and i had to go and have a lie down when i heard the news. Dr Who is a Time LORD, not a Time LADY. I'm just getting over the fact that Idris Elba is playing Roland in the upcoming Dark Tower film. A film based on a 7 book series written (over a period of about 25 years) by Stephen King in which Roland is most certainly a white man.

Despite Dr Who being a Time 'Lord', surely as an alien, the concept of human reproduction is moot?
sp, Alien? In which concept do you classify the Doctor as alien?
I predict it will be a massive success just like the remake of Ghost Busters.......
I think Alien is a fair description of one from the planet of the Time Lords - Gallifrey.

But then I'm not a scholar on the subject.
Exactly he's from Gallifrey so not human and he has two hearts which he can stop at will- how is he NOT alien? The Timelords transcended gender millenia ago, and way back part of a script was 'I knew the Dr when he was a little girl'- so regenerations to the opposite sex are established as quite common.
I was hoping it would be Kris Marshall, I think he would've been perfect for the role. The doctor as a woman? Hmmmm I'll reserve judgement but my initial thought is .....NO!
Ohh Gallifrey, whew I thought that sp meant the EU or some godawful place. :))

Why does he have two hearts?
And do these two hearts beat as one?
the Daily Mail commenters were apoplectic - "He's a doctor, not a nurse", that sort of thing.
You'd need to read up on the Binary vascular system, it's rather wordy.
Oh, is there a position open at the DM then?

May give them a call.
Talbot, not U2.

Yes, I saw how the Daily Mail readers have reacted to this. The paper has made it their lead story and so far it's generated over 4,000 comments.

They are not pleased.

God only knows how they would've reacted if Richard Ayoade had gotten the role.

I suspect half the readership would spontaneously combust.
Would that be a bad thing SP?
