Mikey, nothing in that link mentions any cladding being banned
It was signed off by H&S surely, wasn't it?
Those doing the Inquiry have the task of getting to the bottom of this, hopefully as quickly as is possible.
Hammond didn't say it was banned in the UK. All we know for sure (very early days) is that it is banned in the U.S.
Ah, NOT banned here.
Question Author
Hammond :::::: " Its my understanding that the cladding in question, this flammable cladding,.........is also banned here"

Couldn't be clearer danny.
And many European countries Scooping. EU missed this one didn't they.
Question Author
" is also banned here"
Those words are not in the link provided by you.
Actual words are, "It is my understanding that it is also banned here". He's not sure is he?
Question Author
Danny...yes they are.

I have clicked on it 3 times to make sure. Perhaps there is some reason that you are not getting to the correct link.

If in doubt, go to the BBC News site, and click on politics. The link that you can't access is down the right-hand side.
It seems that nobody is willing to give a definite answer to your question, mikey:

Question Author
Ladybirder....my thread doesn't say for sure if its banned or not.

I, like everybody else, is now no longer sure one way or the other. It could be that Hammond is incorrect.

But as a Minister, I am sure he would have checked his facts first ( ! )
Question Author
Bookbinder....then the Enquiry needs to progress as quickly as possible, so that it is clear if this stuff is dangerous or not. There are many other buildings in London, and the rest of the UK that may be in similar peril.
^ I have seen that it was the cheaper of two possible options, that was probably reason enough for the choice.
Mikey I clicked on the link showing Andrew Marr and Hammond on this morning's AM Show. And he does use the words "it is my understanding ..."
If I use those words it means I am not 100% sure but think it highly likely although I might be wrong;-)
Question Author
Danny...Maybe I can see your problem....I have posted 2 "Hammond" threads on here this afternoon, in quick succession.
No problem Mikey, You just decided to omit the words "it is my understanding"
If it isn't it &^*( well should have been. I've been saying all week that I am amazed that the fire brigade where happy to certify a building clad top to bottom in flammable material.
Question Author
Ladybirder....I was surprised when Hammond made that statement to Marr, as I haven't heard anything similar before. Every time I hear the cladding being mentioned, the opposite is said.
