A p**** poor campaign by May coupled with a load of students thinking they would get something free not realising they would actually pay for it with massive taxes for the rest of their lives.
Agreed. As I have said on another thread Corbyn's just repeated his mantra that 'people voted for hope'. As the Tories gained the greatest number of votes and seats that must mean (by his own logic) that us Tories represented hope.
Fortunately Corbyn is not in a position to do any of that.
Oh the desperation to be right lol. Just wait til she's ousted and the next election sometime later this year, then you'll really have something to cry about.
kvalidir, I don't know who that was addressed to but I'm not crying and neither am I desperate. Fact is Corbyn lost. I'm happy with that.
Yes, let's remember Corbyn lost, big-time.
I was so worried overnight that we might have JC in Downing Street. It would have been a disaster. He promised all things to all men, and for some reason a lot of people actually believed him. We are just beginning to get the economy back on track, despite what is said. New hospitals are being built - wonderful New A & E dept in Leicester RI. Things will improve. I do hope something will be done for public sector workers' wages though, I didn't realise how badly they were treated.

if he became pm, no doubt he would bring out a book, the wisdom of corbyn, chant the mantra (comrades) any dissenters would need re-adjustment, abbott therapy will be enforced, black is right, white get back....
Fender, no one has yet asked whether the Manchester and London outrages had a huge bearing. Political gain was made by blaming May personally for the events. Shocking behaviour. Perhaps ISIS managed to have more influence on Britain and England in particular than the could have dreamed of. Aided and abetted by our Marxist friends, who have shown consistent support for the Muslim terrorists in other parts of the world, they appear to have eroded support for someone who has vowed to do her best for Britain.

Togo, good point..but misplaced by voters if thats their thought, pm hands are tied legally by human rights act, and we dont want to upset minorities where none is meant, political correctness has got out of hand, corbyn and young voters think..they just need understanding and it's the governments fault, what the young and corbyn do not realise is, that it's social intercourse jihadists are after..but a take over and the end to western society.
It's the biggest cock-up since Alfred burnt the cakes. Labour has lost the election and yet have managed to seriously damage the country.

I'm going down to Zürich for the weekend, and shall, as Rowley Birkin of Fast Show fame used to say, get very, very drunk
On message to learn is to hold G.Es. outside University term-times.
So its all Corbyn's fault, for making Labour so popular is it ?

"seriously damage the country"

"let's remember Corbyn lost, big-time"

Get used to it. May is the position she is in due to her incompetence, and Corbyn stepped into the vacuum that she left

Sour grapes all round then!
I wonder how many labour voters, particularly students, believe in Corbyns magic money tree.

Yes he would bankrupt the country, yes he would allow countless unskilled migrants to flood our streets thereby rendering us more at risk from further terrorist attacks and yes he would did us of our defenses.

May should not resign. She should learn valuable lessons from this but stand tall and carry on fighting.
I got rounded on today for saying that I hope JC remembered to send ISIS a Thank You card, without those events and the political capital made from them the result would have been very different. I wouldn't take my grandchildren to a pick and mix shop and say Take what you want, don't worry about paying, and 't I would never vote for a quasi marxist party.
Mikey, would your grapes have been utterly delightful?
The student vote was a major contribution as it is said they registered to vote following Corbyn's promise to abolish fees. Probably a good example was Clegg losing is 'safe' seat.
Zebo....I have tried to be as objective as I can over the last 20 odd hours. But some of the comments on this thread are atrocious.

Corbyn was widely vilified on here, for months. But when it came time for the British public to have their verdicts, he came up trumps. People were able to make their own minds up and he gained seats, at the same time as May lost seats.

It was said on "Any Qustions" tonight, that Mrs May has won a marvellous defeat. Its her that we should be questioning tonight, not Corbyn.
Mikey - Corbyn told the electorate what they wanted to hear. He promised all things to all men with no idea how to pay for it all. I was so worried last night that he might end up as PM. Labour has nearly bankrupted us, allowed uncontrolled immigration, given benefits to those who don't actually need them.... should I go on?
