Unhelpful and undignified.

Is Twitter really the right place for the POTUS to be addressing the world?

It's not exactly diplomatic-speak.
I suspect Trump uses twitter because otherwise his message will be changed, twisted and generally not be delivered how he wants it.

Is it better? I dont know, but at least you know it is him not some intern.
Trump does not do diplomatic, it is why he is popular. No spin.
However he says it, he’s right to criticise political correctness and he’s right to say that the world needs to get more serious about fighting terrorism.

You don't think the UK is serious about fighting terrorism?

I reckon we are serious. Unfortunately we will never be able to prevent attacks on soft targets by madmen.
Gromit, oh, I think we're serious about it - just not serious enough.
Question Author
In what way aren't we serious enough?

What aren't we doing that we should be?
Gromit, Rather than honestly acknowledging the reason the attacks are happening and addressing that as we should be doing, we’re simply continuing to attempt to foil them.
Twitter has always been Trumps mode of communication so we shouldn't be surprised this time either.

He says what a lot of people are frightened to say in the public domain.
For the first time ever I agree with Trump.
//“At least seven dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed’!”//

What a terrible thing to say.............I mean Khan not Trump!
He has been slightly misquoted there.
//In what way aren't we serious enough?

What aren't we doing that we should be?//

On the 500 terrorist cases in the pipeline, removing their citizen or immigrant rights from the UK and sending them back to Syria or Libya, preferably undoing the rear door on the plane but that last part will be politically not acceptable. The message about messing around on the extremist side on British and colonial soil and the resulting consequences will become pretty damn clear.
It could be considered, after all, treason. Now that we used to handle with a rope and a trapdoor.
## “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’” Mr. Trump wrote.

Really Mr Mayor!!!!!!.

What The Mayor of London actually said:

// My message to Londoners and visitors to our great city is to be calm and vigilant today. You will see an increased police presence today, including armed officers and uniformed officers. There is no reason to be alarmed by this. We are the safest global city in the world. //

Khan did not say we should not be alarmed by the attacks, he said we should not be alarmed by the increase police presence.
//There is no reason to be alarmed by this.//

Who says that he was referring to being alarmed by the armed police presence and not the murderous terrorists. If that is the case it gets worse surely?
Perhaps he is worried that a lot of "Londoners" actually prefer the murderers on the streets than the Police.
Just goes to show, whatever you say or whatever you write there will be those who contrive to mishear/misread your comments.

Not just Mr Trump it appears.
Togo....tosh.
