I thought that under-age girls could not be described as 'child prostitutes' or 'ten prostitutes'. In reality, they're exploited children.

If this is the case, then aren't these men groomers?

And would Daily Mail readers be more sympathic to her had the men been...browner?

This may not be popular, but I can see little evidence that she was "groomed" She has every appearance of being a common prostitute, and a highly successful one at that.

And that isn't excusing the LA Police of anything. As Policemen, they should have known better.
I think it's too much part of the culture to change that really. TV, music (especially), casual chat, it's everywhere and seen as normal.
It's not necessarily about "grooming". It's because she was underage, so it's illegal no matter what.
all i see is a wasted life, and abusers walk away after their jollys or exploitation, disgusting
the particular point about all this is that her clientele was cops. And her father worked with the police. This really smells.
as i said a wasted life, and what of other young girls perhaps going the same way right now, it's a vile and makes my blood boil...shame
At 16 she was a drug addict and being sold for sex. Not a highly successful life by any standards.
As mikey almost said, I'm horrified that policemen were involved. I taught several 14 yr.-olds in Bradford who were 'on the game'. I remember (accidentally) discovering a condom in a pencil-case. Reporting my find to the Year Head brought an explanation that Social Services had at last persuaded her to make men use condoms - so it was known; keep out of it. Not a very pleasant girl, but it is the men who are at fault if we go back to first causes.
a life wasted and exploited by perverts, and so it goes on, sad appolgy
ohh did i not do well, really..........

Obsessed with race?

Evidence please. Have a look back at my questions on AB and please explain what you mean.

There are others on AB who are far more concerned with issues regarding race, so I reject your accusation completely.

And it's not a cheap shot. It's a valid observation.

and um the police protested on the grounds it was double billing ?

yeah people in a position of trust should not do this sort of thing ( and hope to keep their jobs )

Pretty straightforward - had the officers been Muslim, would the Daily Mail characterise the girl as being an exploited teen, groomed by these men, or would they roundly attack her as they have in the top rated comments at the bottom.

I cannot for the life of me imagine that they would hold the exact same views.

Do you?

Please explain this:

Just because you are obsessed with race ( and one other topic actually) it doesn't mean that everybody else is as well.

Have you checked my posts?

If so - how can you justify that statement?

// Groomed by her pimp. Not by the men who had sex with her.//
how does Nigh know all this salacious detail ?

groomed by her pimp - oh so that is ok then ?

Exactly - that's what the whole question is about. Speculation based on the fact that a young girl has been groomed and exploited by a group of men, and Mail readers have rounded on her, rather than the men that abused her.

Had they been Muslims, I think the reaction would have been very different. Hence the question - "Is this hypocrisy?"
