Not sore of your thoughts on it but two crowdfunding pages have been set up to try and get these two men back on their feet again.

I sympathise with their situation but I think most people would have acted in the same manner.

Sure , not sore!
thanks smow
no the homeless men I see on Manchester streets are usually to smashed to function ......
Perhaps the crowdfunding thing could be extended to aid homeless people who were too far away to help.

Just a few days ago the great and the good were on here chunterring about not giving cash to 'these people' in case they bought drink or drugs but instead buy them food and drink.

A week is a long time in real life.

I wasn't asking anybody to donate - I was asking your opinions on it. I don't know all the details but it seems at least one of the men is a bricklayer who has fallen on very bad times and is now on the streets.
^ there is a serious shortage of skilled bricklayers so you have to ask why he is not working and earning good money !
Without an address Eddie, it may be impossible for him to find work.
^ all he needs to do is to go to the nearest Jobcentre and they will send him to a site that is looking for bricklayers. They will even get him a travel voucher to get there.
They are to be applauded Smowy, as are all the others that gave their time to help on Monday night. This is how Britain rallies to the cause when it has to.
I believe that he has now been given 6 months rent, so he will have an address, which does help when looking for work.
^ Good.
Eddie, you are assuming he has his up to date CSCS card and has his own PPE - and that the boss will employ a homeless person.
I think it would be foolish to give the two homeless blokes £20,000+.

It would be better going to the homeless centers, and spread around for those down on their luck.

Has a fund started for the victims yet?
hc - good points.
Question Author
Yes a fund has been started for each of them but I don't know what's been raised so far.
Cool Crowdfunding campaign! Good to see people trying to help!
