Disclosing information so sensitive that it has not even been disclosed to the US's closest allies ?

Can't argue with that, Khandro.
The information was " classified " politics may have changed since Trump, but surely classified is just that !....classified !!!!!
Khandro,as you say the U S is, like others, pledged to destroy ISIS. This being the case why wasn't this info shared with their allies or why didn't America act on it themselves without the need of giving classified information to Russia?
The information was sensitive and had not been shared with allies.

The information could, with reverse investigation, give the informant away and make the future of spi/collaboration difficult or dangerous.

That is why he should have kept his big childish mouth shut.

He is not running his businesses he is running a country and to continue his arrogant, childish behaviour is nothing short of making America the laughing stock of the world.

Tweeting every twenty minutes contradictory, inflammatory And thinly veiled threats is not the way a president should be acting.
Does your definition of a "responsible presidency" extend to giving Iran nukes, Cassa?
As others have said, intelligence co-operation is not a straightforward business and for this exact reason needs to be done with care. This is not an impeachable offense because it is technically not illegal, but it is remarkably poor judgement and a sign that he truly is not a suitable person to be President.

Even more remarkable is the way he subsequently shafted his own spokespeople. First they deny that any of this happened at all - one of them claiming "I was in the room" - then Trump goes to Twitter and admits it but says it was great, thus proving that all the WH spokespeople have been lying.....

There must be talk of a palace coup by now. He's even messing up his own people.
As each days passes, it becomes more and more obvious why this fool should never have been elected President. I hope all those Americans that did vote for him are pleased with themselves.
The Donald is constantly winding the left establishment so I'm pretty sure many will be pleased with what he is doing.

This particular accusation seems pretty strange, the left seem to be saying the US should not be talking to Russia, one of the biggest countries against, about ISIS.

And it now seems to be transpiring that no confidential information was passed on, only items that were in the public domain anyway.
I am not sure that anyone is saying that we shouldn't talk to Russia at all. But there are procedures, proper practices, respect for closer allies etc, to take into account. Right now, relations with Russia are frosty, particularly as it's being investigated whether or not there were any serious and dubious links between Russia and top US officials, or Russia and manipulating election campaigning/results. In that environment, you don't go about unilaterally sharing secrets with someone you aren't getting along with well when you weren't given permission to do so.

I'd be happy to work with Russia in combatting ISIS. But that requires us meeting somewhere in the middle, not "getting along with Russia" by giving them everything they want and getting nothing of note in return.
//and getting nothing of note in return. //

I take it you were present at the Trump/Russia meeting then ?

Or are you just listening to the Clinton New Network.

At present I would not believe anything I hear on the News.
And now it's looking like he asked Comey to drop the Flynn investigation.
I guess that might explain the 'not doing a good job' assessment!
Why do you ask vetuste?

What has that to do with discussing sensitive information with Russia?
ymb....this has nothing to do with left or right....its about Trump's suitability to be President. Read what cassa has said at 02:34.
"The Donald is constantly winding the left establishment so I'm pretty sure many will be pleased with what he is doing. "

Erm, yes... the notoriously left wing American intelligence network...

Or the notoriously left-wing Republicans in congress....

You keep telling yourself that.

Also - the issue is not whether Donald Trump had the legal right to give out that info. It's whether it was a sensible thing to do. People really need to read the arguments of people they disagree with before they contribute.
And then the Trump admin. is up against NATO hawks desperate to self-justify, as highlighted by the former French Head of counter- intelligence;
https://www.rt.com/news/388612-bonnet-nato-france-russia/
I did read it Mickey, but unless Cassa was there and has first and information on what was said then it is just a reiteration of a News item.

At the moment there is so much anti-Trump propaganda out there it is impossible to tell what is truth and what is fiction.

//Erm, yes... the notoriously left wing American intelligence network... //

OK, not left wing but still very much part of the Establishment.

And I have read what people have put, to date no one has provided any proof whatsoever apart from title-tattle from know trouble making news organizations. I dont know whether Trump did or did not do anything wrong as the information is not out there to make a good call. It is not me not thinking it through it is the many on here only too quick to jump on the anti-Trump bandwagon.

Even more than the actual act of revealing the information, it is that Trump said he did not know where the information had come from.
That shows either a staggering level of incompetence or it was yet another case of more lies to try to get himself out of another 'hole' of his own making.
You dont know what was said to know whether or not the source of the information would have been relevant or not.

To answer the question, unlike some of our fine, upright, honest and true citizens here who, be they right or wrong, are only too eager to put the boot in at any opportunity, I don’t know what he said so I don’t know if he’s gone too far.
