i heard this on the news this morning, people just going about their daily business, shocking.
Religion eh?
i expect atrocities like this and all the other's round the world by islamic fanatics will never stop, i cannot think of a cure , even if all western forces never went into islamic countries ever again or did business with them, i think jihadists will never cease until the world is totally islamic, and most of the populations are dead or converted..mostly dead i would imagine though.
Despicable and cowardly act.
We went to church today, to mark Palm Sunday. Walked up the hill behind a donkey. This is a terrible act. People seem reluctant to accept that Christians are being targeted. :(
Bishop General Angelos is doing his stuff in fluent English in London

oops Beeb saying Coptic christians - kinda if you are Coptic then you have to be christian

points made - Copts persecuted generally and have never fought back but have shown resilience
attacked when vulnerable that is about to pray
they are there to stay so no Coptic refugees, boys !
some families praying in homes before coptic mass as they dont know if the journey to church is one way.....

a remarkable message for Palm Sunday

Oh since this is underused
Of course everyone wonders when and how Egypt was conquered by the Muslims - since it was part of the eastern roman empire
And it all came to pass in the 630s
The church as in conflict with the church in constantinople
anyway Cairo was betrayed to the muslims
And the betrayers name is unknown ..... he is referred to as al-muqarqas. And he was probably the patriarch who thought he could get a better deal from the Muslims than the Christians oop t north.
A bit of miscalculation there then.....
and here they are paying for it still 1300 y later
Remind me about this 'we all worship the same god' stuff where various oddly be-hatted gents sit around smiling and nodding sagely to each other while their foot soldiers completely ignore the message and slaughter each other with ever escalating horror on show.

In the name of peace, of course.

Bloody outrage!
More and more people are getting the message it would seem ... ignore it and it will go away.

No one could argue with that, but as some would say "Christian lives matter also".
Of course they do.

Look at the amount of answers the threads get when other attacks happen.

I think as this was posted yesterday and it was such a lovely day many were soaking up the sunshine instead of posting.

ummmm

you could well be right and what a lovely weekend it was.

But I did notice that the OP of that past thread has not made an appearance on this one, although active on others.
Dreadful, cowardly acts of violence.

First I'd heard of it, & obviously missed this thread & all news yesterday, so thanks for the heads-up aog.
the problem being is that once we learn of one atrocity another occurs, sometimes worse, how can we go on like this.
