Yet another Trump failure. Is there no longer any doubt that Trump just doesn't have what it takes to be President ?

Will this guy EVER admit he was wrong and apologize for anything? Nothing is ever his fault!! He did not 'just miss' getting it through , it was a mile out, never stood a chance!

'Speaking after the withdrawal, Mr Trump blamed the Democrats for not supporting the bill'

Erm yeah.....that's how politics in the US works Donald.
it's not like Britain where you have a compliant opposition, ZM.
I know, that why I put US and not just 'that's how politics works.
and 2 elected houses to satisfy.

Maybe DT gets a wake-up call to how Washington DC actually works....
All part of the plan, fools, all part of the plan. ;-)
I hardly like to ask what the plan is. Does it involve North Korea at all?

Ironically of course he reason he failed was because this was actually a rare Trump compromise. His reforms did not go far enough for the real republican head bangers, as well as the democrats.

I bet there are a couple on this thread who were not aware of that, they should thank you, ich.
Isn't it strange how some people will ally themselves to someone who proclaimed to be a champion of the people, even when, day after at, they prove themselves to be completely inept at delivering anything.
defeated by those who thought it was too weak combining with those who thought it went too far

deffo happened before
I presuem it will happen again, PP. The Tea Party wing are still a long way from the (more or less) centrists in the party and it looks as though they're still happy to cause havoc even when Republicans hold both Congress and Oval Office.

jno....(22:14)....he doesn't need a compliant opposition, as the Republicans have majority in both Houses. It was the lack of support from his own Party that caused this Bill to fail.

I notice that there is a complete absence of Trump's usual AB Glee Club on this thread.

By the way, am I the only person who is becoming increasingly irritated with the way that Trump can't speak without waving his hands in the air ?
Everything about him irritates me.
Question Author
Ummmm....yes you are right there !
I can't see him going the distance.
His ego is bigger than he is!
His ego will be his downfall..
Question Author
Lets not forget how disastrous this failure is for Trump.

But it isn't just Trump....he is surrounded by advisers, who appear to be as incompetent as he is, and that must be very worrying.
Advisers he picked.
well it would be nearly precedent breaking ground. The only Pres to resign was Richard Nixon, the 37th U.S.and, is best remembered for resigning for Watergate. Nixon stepped down in 1974

Either the courts would have to find something, or Trump take on new ground. The other way out is to be shot and this could indeed be a very likely exit given the way he is hacking all and sundry off.
He's learning that what the President says doesn't just go, unlike the demands of an owner of businesses. He has to ensure an agreement of his party before getting to the vote. It's harder than he figured to get consensus when half the party wants less to change and the other half, more. Apparently his pipeline is in trouble too. It'll be interesting to see if he changes attitude to accept the limitations of the office, or whether he'll continue to fight for what he wants and promised. Awkward decision either way.
