Of all the bits I have read about another Scottish independence referendum has said the Scott's are not interested in another referendum but this BBC link seems to be saying that people thinkindependence is a possibility is at its highest.

One day yes another day no.

Aside my views on independence I think they should wait for at least three years after Brexit has happened. They don't actually know which side their toast is best buttered just yet and a little patience goes a long way.

I know, I sound almost scottish now...But it is good fun. Some of that debt will be scottish then. I bet England can pay back her share though. :))

I would think Scotland's attempts to join the EU will always be vetoed.
Why would they HAVE to adopt the euro?
Why not the yen or dollar? Because the English pound sterling is not an option is it.
How not?
Nicola Sturgeon is deluded.
//Nicola Sturgeon is deluded.//
In what way
//Why would they HAVE to adopt the euro? //

it's the rules of the club - specifically TFEU articles 139 and 140. at this time the UK has a derogation not to join. an independent Scotland would not be able to claim that derogation after cessation, as (above) it would be blocked by the Spanish.
// Olli Rehn, the former EU commissioner for monetary union, has said any plan to use the pound without formal permission would “simply not be possible”. Now an MEP, Rehn said it would be impossible for an independent Scotland to join the EU if it used the pound without a formal currency deal or its own central bank.//

So the Bank Of England says no. You must have your own currency. The danger being that scotland would just print money and cause massive inflation in the rest of the UK. Seemples. :))
Steg, not least in thinking that if Scotland becomes independent it will be free to join Europe. As has been said, any application will be vetoed.

We are called the United Kingdom, and a UK referendum took place, and the 'outs' won.

So why does that 'horrible little woman' (speaking in your language you understand mikey?) think that Scotland should be classed as a separate case?
Carry on all you posters who have no vote on the future of Scotland, maybe concentrate on brexit .
Like truculent teenagers who insist they want to leave home to be free of the imposition of basic manners and respect........but insist that they retain use of the family car, washing machine, internet connection and insist that their room is left as they like it. I think that the Royal Yacht Britannia would look marvellous moored alongside HMS Victory, all those lovely tourists to pay for a look around.
//but insist that they retain use of the family car, washing machine, internet connection and insist that their room is left as they like it//
not true as
The family car is so old and rusty and fails the emissions test, internet is so slow it might be cut off already and as for the room .. well the house has been repossessed.
//The difficulty of the “opt-in” plan is that there is little support for it in Brussels//

Oops from the link.
As for the rest haha. You are using the telescope the wrong way round. Must go, a bit of fishing to be had elsewhere. I just hope they are biting there as well. :))
Enjoy your fishing, hope you do better than here
It wasn't just Spain that said they would block Scotland's bid, steg.
And I haven't read that the Spanish Prime Minister has had a change of heart.
I know Talbot , but it's Spain that people keep saying will veto
yeah another referendum thread
and look !

30 replies all saying the same thing as last time

I dont agree with the issue by the way
( thx to French and Saunders -Kilroy Spoof))
