“We want our community to be outward looking, not insular,” Ahmed said. “Our mosque is as much yours as it is ours.”

That's very refreshing to hear!
Good on Corbyn and good on the Mosque....jaw, jaw is better than war, war methinks.

Morning Mikey, I didn't know you were a poet :-)
No but Churchill may have been !
Apart fro the fact that Trump's wall is aimed at Mexicans, not Muslims, no, he doesn't.

This reminds me of the joke wherein a teacher asked the class to write about the police. One boy wrote, 'Pleece is baztaads'. Shocked at this the teacher arranged a visit from the local community officer, who gave a talk and handed out balloons and lollipops.

The next day they were invited to write again about the police. The same child wrote, 'Pleece is cunning baztaads'

I say this because I think the whole exercise is a false cosmetic one.
There is no point to Jeremy Corbyn.
//....jaw, jaw is better than war, war methinks.//

Except when it applies to Russia, eh Mikey?

//“Our mosque is as much yours as it is ours.” //

Softly, softly, catchee monkey. Fools!
Is it any wonder that there is so much xenophobia in Britain, when you read some of the comments on here today ?

Leaving aide the constant hate campaign against Corbyn, the Mosques are trying build bridges with the public here....and yet all we get is the same ignorant comments.
I don't have to remove my shoes when going to church so I certainly won't remove them in a mosque, not that the situation is ever likely to arise.
....and yet all we get is the same ignorant comments.

You're the expert.

Owen Smith was going to reserve his teabags for discussions with IS leaders. At least Corbyn was more realistic!

President Trump probably has his own brand of tea: Ty-phoon!

///and yet all we get is the same ignorant comments///

That's rich, coming from one of the most bigoted posters on the Site.

Mikey //the Mosques are trying build bridges with the public here//

I think to many people the only issue that will cut the mustard is that whereby Islamic leaders are seen to be doing far more to prevent extremist views and radicalisation.
From graffiti at Durham University, 1973.

If Typhoo put the T in Britain, who put the c*** in S****horpe?

The same joker who put the **** into Wi**** rsrand.

Has Theresa May ever attended a Mosque event like this one?
Mikey, go and learn something about Islam and then come back and tell me I’m xenophobic and that my comments are ignorant – because it’s me you’re referring to - even though you don’t have the courage to address me personally.
