well maybe it is but he's bang on, they should introduce borders.
He's doing what all potential political leaders do, promising people what they want without any idea of how to deliver it.
The left have to acknowledge and address issues outside their comfort zones otherwise they will see Le Pen gain more and more as we did in UKIP.

UKIP might only have one MP but they have a lot of disgruntled followers and backers.

We and parts of Europe are now seeing that forceing liberalism on everyone doesn't work. However Europe is now trying to force through greater ties because some are not playing by their tune any more and actually listening to the people.
Yes it is a ploy to stop Le Pen. When he wins nothing will be done and he will cosy up with the corrupt EUSSR.

I can recall travelling between France and its neighbours by road and having to stop at the border. Nations outside the EU (and some of those within it) manage to ensure that “hard” borders are in place. It firstly needs a political leader with the guts to simply say to the EU that this particular policy is causing us untold grief and since you stubbornly refuse to review it we’re no longer complying with it. Then it needs the physical arrangements to be put in place. It can be done, it’s not beyond the wit of man. But it may be beyond his will.
Yes, of course it is. He stops short of promising a referendum on leaving the EU, which Le Pen offers. She must be furious with him for stealing her clothes. On the other hand this goes against the grain of the liberal left - win some lose some - a calculated gamble. It is shaping up to be a hugely intricate and interesting election. What, for instance, do the left of all shades do IF faced with a choice of 2 hard-right candidates? I suspect that the Communist wing (NOT insignificant in France) may go with Le Pen and that many of the 'Blairite' tendency may abstain in horror. Interesting - I have my fiver ready, but too early to place my bet.
M Fillon might it get the length of a run off - or even the first round - at this rate.
Le Pen has also toned down her rhetoric, claiming to want to keep Grancevin the EU (probably noting the 60% support for it in the country) and keeping the euro along with a resurrected franc)
A meeting of sordid minds in some middle ground :-)
