When the Red Cross says something like this, then surely we have to sit up and take notice ?

A quote from the Shadow Health Secretary :::::::

"For the Red Cross to brand the situation a 'humanitarian crisis' should be a badge of shame for government ministers."

Who can argue with that ?

The NHS is safe with us ....really ?

TWR......what ***? See my post above.
I agree Sqad, but why should they be put in a position that the staff are stressed out of their minds? I was employed by the NHS.
Sqad. There are OTHERS in the NHS beside Doctors.
The UK is the greatest exporter of doctors in Europe.
Surely this must tell you something about the NHS being the "envy of the world."
TWR/Ron....yes i agree there are other posts in the NHS, but my experience has been with the medical staff.
"Stressed" is an emotive term and am not quite sure to what it equates.
Let's be fair here.....mikey ALWAYS brings up the NHS as a means of giving the Tories a good kicking. Nothing more, nothing less.
From my Daughter insight, Nerves, Stress, concentration, inability to speak due to work related issues on her mind, thinking about her staff, thinking about the Rotas due to Staff Shortage but to name a few more.

That is a combination of state controlled medicine and working in the medical environment.
If you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen.
Believe Sqad, I could not give a monkey about who is running this country as long as they do it right, without making sure they are not lining their own pockets & put THIS COUNTRY FIRST & sod the rest of the world, they can sort out their own problems, for a start Overseas Aid, that is one thing they do want to kick into touch, if the likes of Africa has a crisis due to them Sh------g, that's not my concern, but people that are lined up like a Conveyor belt within a hospital is.
TWR...O.K..LOL
Did YOU say YOU DID work in the NHS?
TWR...if that post is to me, then the answer is YES.......I have done my bit.
Sqad if we all got out of the kitchen we'd be solely run by agency staff and the chaos would be even greater. In reality, bed numbers on the ward may not have changed, so management then thinks we don't need to change the numbers of staff. This ignores the fact that the dependency level of the patients has massively changed, people are living longer with chronic conditions and need more support within the ward setting, frequently needing 2 ward staff to support each indiidual. The joy of CQC means we get a considerable dollop more of admin and forms to get through, and a mass panic any time an inspection is anticipated.
I was in the " Calderstones Trust, a very good trust may i add until the cut backs, who suffers, It's not the knobs that feck up the system, but the *** shovellers do not know anything do we, also the Service Users.
Campbelking....I agree with your post entirely and that is why the ethos of the NHS must change........but that is the problem, the UK has only known the NHS and the electorate and the Political parties are loathe to make these necessary changes as it will almost jeopardise their road into government.
The will isn't there.......and so we go on.
Camp, have you done the job?
Work as a physio in our local hospital
Is that it, what hours?
TWR LOL ^^^^^ isn't that enough?
Full time 37.5 hours per week plus compulsory additional hours at weekends which is usually about 9 hours per month (is done on a rota basis) plus 2 on-call overnight shifts per month.
