What she did was wrong but she has done her time.

Should she not now be allowed to move on?

divebuddy - People are allowed to serve their punishment and then try and live a better life.
What does the 'I.P.U' on the bottom of that note mean?
-- answer removed --
1. The Daily Mail have lifted the story from the Daily Mirror....so they won't be paying her anything.
2. The Daily Mirror are using the 'reportage' supplied by *a friend*.

There is nothing to suggest that Matthews is not genuinely remorseful and trying to live a good and better life.
Why she would court publicly is senseless, go far away from your area get a job, and be a decent member of society, not difficult !!!ll
Got God i am all forgiven, yeah right pull the other one it's got bells on it.
She only needs forgiveness from her daughter, really. Anything else is just for show.
Annea did you read the story she does live in a new place and she is trying to get a job!
I did, and she should be encouraged to stay " in a new place". And get off the pages of the newspaper.
In appearing in an newspaper, it doesn't necessarily follow that *you* are the one who released the story.

If you read it properly, you'll find that it is a (some) friend who is speaking...
divebuddy - //Indeed they are Andy. But I feel the world would be a better place if Karen Matthews wasn't in it. //

That's contradiction.

Either people are entitled to a shot at redemption, or they're not.

Or do you have a sliding scale depending how much the crime in question, or the individual committing it offends you?

divebuddy - //Life's full of contradictions, Andy. //

It is, which is why I try to eliminate any of them which effect my views on something, and make it impossible for me to know what I think.

How about you?

divebuddy - ////It is, which is why I try to eliminate any of them which effect my views on something, and make it impossible for me to know what I think. //

Is that a sort of Mr Spock the Vulcan thing. It is not logical and must be eliminated, approach to life. Good luck with that. //

No - it's a simple matter of forming a view, and then not contradicting it in the same post.

I said, people should be allowed to move on and rebuild their lives.

You agreed, and then said the world would be a better place without Karen Mathews in it.

I then pointed out that you can't have it both ways - nothing 'Vulcan' about that!

Fair enough.
the daughter put herself up for fostering and did not want to go to any family member..speaks volumes...
