I went out for a run earlier, it was horrible, cold and foggy so got home soaked. Have had a shower and now lazing about with coffee and crosswords, am not planning on going out again today, so if we haven't got it we'll do without it, I hate this time of year.
Anyone got any good news?
I've made a jug of cocktails, have a vat of chilli waiting to be reheated later, have some canapés almost ready to go, fizz, red, and dessert wine all in their appropriate places, house cleaned to within an inch of its life (and not before time) and guest bed made up.
Phew, looking forward to our guests arriving in an hour or so and the fun beginning :)
That sounds like a lot of hard work ethandron but worth it when the fun begins I'm sure.
Good news Ecclescake, always good to win something, and yes I'm busy doing nothing, I almost feel guilty.
B00, I actually enjoy it, and so does the dog he comes with me.
Its chilly and damp here too, but you can't deny the autumn colours are splendid this year. I have enjoyed being out and about this morning and although its nice to be in with coffee and crossword now, I will probably wrap up again in a while and go sweep some leaves.
They do, usually down to lack of training or mishandling I think.
He is not actually mine but I spent some time looking after him a few months ago and running with him became a bit of a habit, and it's fun.
Hi Tashi...I think I now know your relationship with whom I regard as a friend of mine in AB. Nice to meet up with you once again.
My only good news is that Gretel (my wife) is progressing to good health from a recent incident which resulted in her being admitted to the resuscitation unit of our local Hospital. All started with with a cough and within a few days she couldn't breathe. It was a touch and go situation but a week of Antibiotics appear to have brought her almost back to her usual chirpy self.
Anyway how are you ?. The only thing I like about this time of year is that I feel more wide awake when I get out of bed in the mornings. It's my body clock which never adjusts to British Summer Time.
Hello Hans, so pleased to hear your wife is on the mend, good news indeed.
I'm very well, thank you, and the man thing sends his regards from the depths of the armchair where he is watching Wales not winning against Australia.
We're going to a watering hole in hammersmith and then onto the battersea park fireworks, afterwards a BBq, few drinks at a friends, some more fireworks in the garden and then onto a club.
Lol...fair play. It's my father in laws birthday so the landlady of the pub has organised a party (or a way to get more customers in) but we're already having a party next week in Ireland...
After last night, I ate too much, we are having a night in, Dave topped up the drinks cupboard this morning so no reason to go out apart from walking the dog and I've done my share for the day.
Enjoy your parties.
