The Mail is getting its thong in a right robble over this 'story'.

Today, it breathlessly advised its readers that Harry has been staying with Ms Markle for a week! (the word 'week' was underlined in case anyone missed a chance to be titillated and / or offended).

Other sections of the media have queued up to spill tittle-tattle from the actress's half-sister about 'dubious family goings-on'.

It reads like The News Of The World circa 1961 when the Profumo scandal was at its height.

My question is - in 2016, are we really so obsessed with what the Royal Family's junior members do with their time - and do we really need to denigrate a foreign actress whose only 'transgression' so far appears to be a rumoured romance with Prince Harry?

andy, Ms Markle is half, er, ethnic, and I suspect that's a covert reason behind much of the "public interest".

I don't think Royal watchers are in the minority cloverjo, you only have to remember Diana's funeral to realise this and I think an awful lot of people ARE interested in Harry (probably not on here), I know I am, I think he's a great guy and I hope he finds happiness soon, but I don't think this is THE one !

Nothing wrong with that - but you can't upbraid someone else for using media text as a barometer for a viewpoint, when you do exactly the same thing yourself.

jno - Ms. Markle is indeed of mixed heritage, something that she is proud of, and the personal and professional limitations of which she has spent her career and personal life fighting vigorously.

I am sure that level of spirit and tenacity forms part of her attraction for the Prince - the addition of mind-watering beauty is simply an added bonus for him!

Jordyboy - I think it does not need to be stated that anyone on here commenting on the Royal Family does not know them personally, but that does not bar them from passing an opinion based on media information.

After all - virtually the entire News Section is rooted in Islamophobia, with posts by people who cannot know anything near enough Muslims to foist the all-encompassing views on the faith that they do - but it doesn't stop them from doing it.

A view is just that - a view, it doesn't have to be able to withstand forensic analysis in order to be valid, and placed on here.

Exactly Jordy, that is why, although we are constantly told by the media that those migrants being settled in England are children, I refuse to believe them.
