YMB - //Yes I have a Nation it is called Great Britain.

I'm not sure whether you are trying to be clever on my slight misuse of grammar or it is simply more of your anti Britishness coming out. //

Neither - it was just a little light teasing - which may have got lost in print.

No offence intended.

And I am not anti-British.

No andy, I'm not. I don't want to end up trapped in the hughesosphere, a never ending loop of repetitive questions and answers that prove nothing and invariably end up in several pages of thread.
I'm limiting myself to 3 responses per thread, if that's ok with you?

That's absolutely fine with me - and if you want to can the nasty sniping for no reason, that will be absolutely fine too.
For some reason I cant get the link to play. It does irritate me when anyone who thinks they are someone start speaking on behalf of others without any mandate just because they happen to be in the public eye. Of course she is entitled to an opinion as is anyone but not to start spouting "apologies" on behalf of everyone else.

Wind your neck in Lily. If you want to apologise for anything, apologise for the fact that your dad made such a terrible record (although it was very tongue in cheek, I admit).
A lot of "celebrities" seem to think they have the right to decide or question our policies often to the detriment of the population.
CrapAtCryptics - //A lot of "celebrities" seem to think they have the right to decide or question our policies often to the detriment of the population. //

I think that's a little unfair.

With the exception of true 'celebrities' - people who are famous for being famous, and create nothing, other people lumped in with the term are artists, they are musicians, actors, creative people.

A creative mind is a questioning mind, and a questioning mind reaches conclusions and opinions, and sometimes those opinions are sought.

Fair enough, sometimes, and this appears to be one of them, a view has not necessarily been asked for, and is given anyway, but that is why artists and similar people have view to give - it goes along with what they do.

What we have to appreciate, is that they are every bit as flawed, ignorant, and uniformed as the rest of us, so their opinion is no more or less valid based on the platform and profile that their art has given them.
First we had the great unwashed Bob Geldoff mouthing off , now some bird who thinks she can sing, all we need now is Boneo for the hat trick.

I refer you to my previous answer.
lol at Boneo
Just stating my opinion.
baza - //Just stating my opinion. //

That's all any of us are doing I think.
Difference is we don't state to the world that we are speaking on behalf of our country andy.
Stupid woman, did we invite them to the jungle?
If they feel that depressed, go back.
this stupid woman is not talking on my behalf.
ladybirder - //Difference is we don't state to the world that we are speaking on behalf of our country andy. //

Absolutely - I was of course referring only to AB'ers.

There is no doubt that Ms. Allen was carried away by the emotion of the moment, but that is a luxury denied famous people with mics and cameras in the vicinity - because the backlash she is now experiencing is the inevitable result.
Chilldoubt, I think there was no need to attack andy in that way,..it was hostile and uncalled for .

andy-hughes, //There is no doubt that Ms. Allen was carried away by the emotion of the moment, but that is a luxury denied famous people with mics and cameras in the vicinity - because the backlash she is now experiencing is the inevitable result.//

It’s not a luxury ‘denied’ to famous people with mics but rather very readily available to famous people with mics. Those who take this sort of advantage of their ‘celebrity’ do so at their own risk.

I'm not really bothered Baths, I guess my tolerance of right-on, ultra liberal lefties from the music industry(who've not been in the public eye for a while) has all but expired.
I prefer telling it like it is.

I am sure Baths, like myself, will struggle to find a connection between your intolerance of a musician's comments, and the need for a groundless attack on another AB'er.
gotta get back to Facebook, someone is calling me Bath's :(

You called yourself Baths in your post of 09:20 - if you prefer your full name, no problem.
