Ah come on
I was puzzled why someone would walk a dog all the way from York to Stonehenge and then I realised they hadn't invented street lamps in those days, so they had to find something for the dog to wee against.
Where are we going?
A dog tooth has been found at stonehenge which apparently proves something

Is it just me that thinks Archaeologist make *** up?
Ah, right. Thanks Gromit.
-Talbot-, not, it's not just you.

Coulda run the whole way quickly a dash hound maybe?
An archaeologist? Isn't he from Spinal Tap?
Amazing story. The site where it was found is older than Stonehenge. They can tell the dog walked from Yorkshire with its family and it was a pet/hunter about 8 years old. Heard it on the news at lunchtime but forget the breed. I'm in awe of people who can do this.
It reminds me of a joke I heard when I was a kid in the 70's Ladybirder

Two cowboys come upon an Indian lying on his stomach with
his ear to the ground.
One of the cowboys stops and says to the other, "You see
that Indian?"
"Yeah," says the other cowboy.
"Look," says the first one, "he's listening to the ground.
He can hear things for miles in any direction."
Just then the Indian looks up. "Covered wagon," he says,
"about two miles away. Have two horses, one brown, one white.
Man, woman, child, household effects in wagon."
"Incredible!" says the cowboy to his friend. "This Indian
knows how far away they are, how many horses, what color they
are, who is in the wagon, and what is in the wagon. Amazing!"
The Indian looks up and says, "Ran over me about a
half hour ago."

(copied and pasted of course)
ladybirder, it's interesting, but I do feel that often archaeologists have a habit of filing things conveniently in existing boxes.
LOL Talbot. So you and Naomi think I'm being gullible then?
ladybirder, I wouldn't say that. I find it fascinating too. I just don't believe that everything necessarily fits into the boxes that archaeologists file them in.
I'm still trying to work out how one tooth found in Wiltshire can tell them the dog drank water in York.
Must have been something very special in the water in York at that time I suppose which was present in or on the dog's tooth.

Awestruck of Brighton & Hove.
