/// It is fine for one person to draw something that isn't a balanced view, but it is not fine for a political organisation to base its campaign around a lie, which is what the Breaking Point poster was. ///

And don't you in some way think that the photograph that was used to stir up emotions was in some way a lie?

Not saying that a poor child was not drowned, but not for trying to escape from a war torn country, as it tried to represent.

And has Naomi put the poster was not a lie, but a true representation on what was overtaking Europe at that time.
The UKIP poster wasn't a "lie" exactly, but it was using the refugee crisis as a reason for voting Brexit. As if somehow voting to leave the EU would stop it.
Poor kiddies, but it's always the innocents who are victims of war.
AOG,
I have already said the juxtaposed images do not tell a true story.

The Breaking Point poster received widespread condemnation and record complaints. It was much criticised by Leavers. Michael Gove said it made him shudder when he saw it. Its likeness to Nazis propaganda was very unfortunate.
Changing the subject: Voting Brexit ensured that once they are given their EU passport they couldn't simply walk into the UK. They'd have to set up illegal camps in France and consider using violence to try to intimidate their way across.

And as an aside, knowing the rest of the EU couldn't count on a large portion being able to be offloaded here might make them think twice about letting them in at all. Never know your luck.

/// Children are being killed in their 10,000's in Aleppo. ///

That's not quite true mikey;

*** Aleppo, in northern Syria, has been besieged for years during that country's civil war. Thousands of people have been killed there, including 4,500 children, and many lives have been upended. ***

"Voting Brexit ensured that once they are given their EU passport they couldn't simply walk into the UK. They'd have to set up illegal camps in France and consider using violence to try to intimidate their way across."

Even allowing for that rather dubious analysis, voting "Brexit" does not and did not mean the UK immediately leaving the EU. Although I suspect no one was falling over themselves to make this clear
'The Russian Defense Ministry has denied Western media reports of its alleged role in an airstrike on the residential neighborhood of the Syrian city of Aleppo. “Russian Air Force aircraft active in the Syrian Arab Republic never engage targets within the boundaries of settlements,” Sputnik quoted ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov as saying Friday. “This especially concerns the al-Qaterji district of Aleppo, directly adjacent to the two recently opened Russian humanitarian operation corridors for the safe exit of local residents, mentioned in the Western media,” he added. The nature of the damage shown by Western channels “demonstrates that if the strike did take place, it would come not from aircraft munitions, but a mine or a gas cylinder used in large numbers by the terrorists,” according to the spokesman.'
Unfortunately the rest of his statement was drowned out by loud laughter.
I mean, they might be telling the truth, but it's more likely that the bombs were dropped by pigs :-)
Sputnik? Don't make me laugh. Oh, too late :-)

Altogether now ...

ichkeria; You really don't like things Russian do you? I wonder why.

http://sputniknews.com/
I know a lot about Russian media and how they operate.
Sputnik news in particular is a joke. You are very naive if you think they can be trusted.
I'll give you an example: the recent film released of alleged Ukrainian sabotage in occupied Crimea was shown to have been made several days before the alleged date, as the moon was in the wrong phase. Note to the FSB in future: study your lunar charts :-)) Although the fact is of course it probably doesn't matter as the damage is done at the time
Alleged "war crimes" by Ukrainian forces in Slavyansk in 2014 taken from a story line of Game of Thrones.
It's all lies, lies, lies. One wants to think the best of them, but they keep letting us down :-)
ichkeria; Does it matter on which day sabotage is carried out?
Do you know any of the history of Ukraine?
I can recommend this;

Gromit at 11:04 Fri, whoever criticised the poster and whoever said they shuddered at it, it wasn’t a lie. It was just politically correct to claim it was.
Khandro.....who does like Russia ? Do you ?

They are responsible for the carnage that is Aleppo, by bombing Hospitals.

A country to admire perhaps !
"ichkeria; Does it matter on which day sabotage is carried out? "

Oh come on khandro, you are a clever chap. If a news broadcaster says an attack is carried out on Day x just gone, but it's shown to have taken place on Day x-5, say, it does raise the suspicion that it's been filmed specially for the occasion. Like I say, it wouldn't be the first time.
mikey; In warfare, hospitals, schools and private homes get destroyed by both sides. The Americans bombed a hospital last October in Kunduz, Afghanistan, killing patients and doctors which they claimed (and probably was) an accident.
Nobody, absolutely nobody, would deliberately target a hospital, what would be the point?
Do I like Russia? Well I like Solzhenitsyn, Prokofiev and Chekov, but I don't like Stalin, Beria and co. - bit of a daft question, if I may say so.
Khandro....Hospitals have been bombed for years in Syria. What would be the point you ask ?

The point is obvious....the point is to instill terror amongst the Syrain people, and that is why Assad sanctions it. He also santions the use of chemical weapons and uses them on civilians, and Russia supports him in that action.

Let me phrase the question a little clearer for you....do you support Russians support of Assad ?
Yes!
Then I left with the conclusion that you support Assads bombing of Hospitals and use of chemical weapons....shame on you, but at least I now know.
Stalin and Beria of course were not Russian, as such :-)

There is a strong suspicion that the Russians are deliberately targeting medical facilities, and an even stronger suspicion that Assad's own air force has, and that is being charitable.
I personally have no problem with Russia being an ally of Assad, but they have actually proved to be a pretty poor one: had they coaxed him into a more measured response to the uprising, they might have played an honourable role in both avoiding the mayhem which has ensued, and in preserving their interests and assets in that country. As it is, they decided to oppose all UN attempts to pressure the Syrian leader into a more measured response, with the resulting disaster for everyone.
