I believe tht Frau Merkel of Germany wished to promote her credentials as a world leader plus display her virtue signals.
She invites swarms of so called refugees through the open borders into Europe without checking antecedents and medical records.She expects her herrenfolk to accept this invasion with a cheerful smile or lump it. She also demands that the rest of Europe follow her lead.
The UK has not done so. The chickens have come home to roost to those countries who left their borders open and assumed this was a humanitarian issue. Very sadly it is now biting them on the ........I wonder if Merkel is feeling so proud of her actions and Schengen now.!! That is what has gone on in the world of Europe.
