Noami,
The point of last week was to get two names, from 5 candidates onto the ballot paper for Conservative members to decide on.
How this has panned out, has denied the members their votes, and is against how the leadership contest rules were supposed to work.

It guarantees a Remainer becomes the next Prime Minister, and lots of members will be very annoyed by that.
Joke of the week

After widespread ridicule of several exaggerations on Tory leadership hopeful Andrea Leadsom’s CV, one of her allies quipped: ‘She didn’t have to put up with this nonsense when she was an astronaut.’

Leadsom sinks back into the obscurity from which she came...........................Andy Warhol was right after all !
Right ... that's the Tories all but sorted.

Now what about Labour?
I do wonder why she ran for pm in the first place ?
Gromit, I've no doubt lots of members will be annoyed about it, but if one of the remaining two candidates has decided to quit, short of beginning the whole election process again, more than potentially resulting in the same outcome, there's little that can be done about it.
Well, that journalist certainly knew what she was doing!!!!

Anne...she appears to have few of the qualities required for the job.

But my best guess as to why she stood, was to make sure Spotty Gove didn't get a foothold on the greasy ladder, and we must thank her for that at least.

The thought of him getting hold of the keys to the stationary cupboard, let alone the keys to Number Ten, should fill us with utter dread.
I guess I'm pleased to see an extended campaign at the top of the government stopped early, and I was no fan of Leadsom, but it's a bit of a shame all the same to see the contest end so quickly. Guess I'll have to find something else to be grumpy about.

In all seriousness, though, hurry up and trigger Article 50 already now please.

You seemed to have changed your tune suddenly! I do agree though.
The difference between Labour and the Tories:

Corbyn got 60% of members votes and is under threat.
May gets 0% of members votes and will be Prime Minister.
andres, Prime Ministers need to be strong enough to deal with negative publicity. If that was indeed the reason she stepped down, then she fell at the first hurdle – which renders her unsuitable for the job anyway.
No, not really. I never was pleased about the referendum result, but to the best of my knowledge I've never said anything about trying to disrupt it.
Fair comment!
Thankyou Naomi, I know that but I was merely pointing out the power of the press?
Gromit, //The difference between Labour and the Tories://

Mrs May garners respect from both the electorate and her colleagues. The same cannot be said for Mr Corbyn.
It's heartening to know she'll be able to call on her children to comfort her in her desolation.
Oh !!!!!!
andres, I realise that, but politicians in high places have to be strong enough to deal with it.
