> We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum.

Already got over 100,000 signatures, which means that it will be considered for Parliamentary debate.

Even though I voted Remain, I think this is a bad idea.

ELLIPSIS , yes I am in Corby and there is a flaw in the petition wording. If the turnout is 75% there could be a 50.1%/49.9% vote and there would be no need for another vote because the turnout threshold had been met even though only 37.58% of the electorate had voted for the winning option. The wording should be that 45% of the electorate has to vote for a change.

Well it has been suggested that unlike all other 5times with other countries we won't be offered a bribe, sorry I mean concession of something we want, and told to rethink and vote again.
EU President: No more renegotiation with UK, out means out - STV stv.tv/news/politics/1358305-eu-president-no-more-renegotiation-with-uk-… 1 day ago ... The European Union's Commission President Jeane-Claude Juncker has said they will be no post-Brexit renegotiation offer from the EU.
Many would love Obergruppenführer Merkel to ignore democracy.

Apparently some of Nigel Farage's ordinary people on Twitter are saying "Oh no, I only voted Leave as a protest. It's not what I wanted."

I wonder if they can demand a re-run? Muppets.
^^ I really doubt that. You shouldn't believe all you read on twitter.
Maybe they are folk posing as "Nigel Farage's ordinary people".
Although from their claim they sound like they are "special" to me.

Why would you doubt it Khandro? You believe nobody could be that stupid? Surely not ...
Some poor losers out there! A bad idea -contrary to how voting has worked for ages past.
I'm fairly sure there *are* a few people who didn't quite realise that voting "leave" actually meant leaving. Leave was a protest vote too. But it's hard to imagine that around 750,000 people who voted to Leave have already changed their minds.

But anyway. Something about stable doors and horses springs to mind. I've spent the last 24 hours feeling various levels of shell-shock, but participating in a vote means accepting the legitimacy of the process and result.
Fed up listening/ talking about it now, let's sit back and see what occurs :-)
Sad losers. Still the remain scaremonger.

The stock narket actually did not drop masibley by eod. Its all a bycket of rubbush
Why are the Remainers accused of being bad (or sad) losers? We are upset, and worry for the future of our country and its people.
Indeed, CJ. Particularly in the first few days, the shock is rather raw. Particularly given the various ways the vote was so markedly split by geography, age, etc.

In a vote that was supposed to be about taking back control, it's remarkable just how little of that Remain voters have at the moment.
In a democracy the minority rarely has the control.

It is the reaction of SOME remainers that lead to the accusations. We are all keen to ensure the future is right for our descendents. But there is major polarisation on this issue with one side failing to see how the other side could justify their view. It'll settle down in time. Everything eventually does.
ELLIPSIS, in the first Scottish Devolution referendum, there was vote in favour but it was not carried forward because 40% of the electorate had to have voted in favour. In the EU vote, only 37.44% of the electorate voted to leave.
"In a democracy the minority rarely has the control."

We are in a minority in the EU...

(and don't get started on the "it's not a democracy" line. The EU Commission was appointed not elected, but the other three branches of the legislature were elected one way or another.)
If there was any likelihood of there being another referendum, David Cameron wouldn't have been so quick to go. It's a non starter, and it would seem that anybody who now feels that they should have voted differently shouldn't have voted at all. This is my one and only view on the EU debate and am quite prepared to let things take their course.
If the petition runs for six months an it closes in November, it must have started in May. Their saying it must be at least a 60% vote with at least 75% turnout means 45% of the electorate has to have voted for the winners for it to be valid.
On the question of being bad losers etc etc, had the vote gone the other way, would the losers then have been angry and/or upset or would they have said Oh well, put the kettle on? Some petty remarks on here today.
