How do the Left manage to organise such protests, if it had been a right-wing demonstration, it would either have been banned or they would have been called racists, Neo-Nazis or fascists.

After the so called Independent, went to the trouble to organise a petition and produce this article in praise of the protesters, they failed to stop their readers voicing their own more sensible opinions, they make interesting reading.

If it was left to the sympathisers and the left that photograph of the 50,000 protesters, could illustrate the number of so called refugees that could be heading your way.

Not everybody is in a position to be able to offer a spare room.
What else can be offered (excluding cash)?
I could help with teaching English and befriending.
I'll pack their cases.
Togo, a few more words....

The population of London is approximately 8.6 million. ‘Thousands’ or even 'tens of thousands' hardly endorses the city's solidarity with refugees.
Some on the left delude themselves Naomi. The problem is, when they can't delude everybody else, they do get so annoyed.
:o)
The people who support these marches need to ask themselves - Will the reugees be security/disease checked? If not, why is that not a worry for you? I dispair sometimes.
Svejk, your post at 23:46 on Saturday, surely you meant unpack their cases?
My father bought me a bike for passing the 11plus when I was, er, 11. That was the last present he ever bought me until 20 years later when I had to move back to the family home and he bought me a suitcase for Christmas.
The meaning wasn't lost on me, sandy. And that's what I meant.
that's what I thought you meant
regfuees, illegals, immigrants etc telling us we should take more of them....gotta love the irony....

a few thousand...pffft...the vast majority if given the chance would say no !

/// And, lets face it many of these may be doctors nurses and have many other skills we are direly in need of ///

How many more times do we have to see this pathetic excuse, for welcoming thousands upon thousands of potential terrorists, unknown disease carriers, pick-pockets, rapists, scroungers etc, etc. to ouir country?

Only a very, very small minority may be doctors and nurses, who incidentally may also not be trained up to British standards.
They are also potential life-savers, entrepreneurs, law-abiding citizens and ordinary run of the mill folk.

/// "I don't judge people based on their race, creed, colour or gender. I judge people based on spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure" ///

Oh so in your world, it matters not what their race, creed, colour or gender may be, they are okay providing they can spell and also possess a good sound knowledge of grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. but too bad if they don't?

/// I'd rather be having dinner with a Syrian Lawyer, his Doctor wife and their charming children, than some of the semi-literate posters on display here ... the conversation would certainly be more informed and interesting. ///

How do you know they would have charming children, they may be little horrors?

Regarding your choice of Dinner companions, and noticing that you appear to have chose them simply because of their professions, I can only assume that you are just a another creepy social climber.

/// They are also potential life-savers, ///

In the circumstances, perhaps it would have been wise to think a little, before you chose that occupation?

/// entrepreneurs, law-abiding citizens and ordinary run of the mill folk. ///

Those positions are all full up, but if there were some vacancies left, how would we conduct the interviews and go through their Curriculum Vitae?
Are you really saying we do not need more entrepreneurs, law-abiding citizens and run-of-the-mill folk? Are there not already such folk who have come to the UK as immigrants whether as adults or wee ones and have then gone on to bigger and better things?

You have already consigned them to the scrap heap without a second's thought and yet you keep banging on about how tolerant this country is.

/// Are you really saying we do not need more entrepreneurs, law-abiding citizens and run-of-the-mill folk? ///

No not specifically, all that I am saying is we are full up, but if we could make sure for certain that they are entrepreneurs, law-abiding citizens and run-of-the-mill folk, (which I can't possible see how we could) then I would gladly like to see them replace the criminals, spongers, and anti-social immigrants that we have imported in the past.

/// Are there not already such folk who have come to the UK as immigrants whether as adults or wee ones and have then gone on to bigger and better things? ///

As I have already pointed out, is it worth the gamble that they are going to turn out in the positive ways that you illustrate? May be some will turn into the drug pushers, paedophiles, knife and gun killers etc. that some have already turned into already.
