Yep. The maximum sentence he could have been given is 6 months imprisonment and that is usually imposed on those that have thousands of images. That needs reviewing.
Needs addressing fast.
I've just got more details about this case.
He downloaded the photos whilst he was in the US and it came to the attention of the US authorities who decided not to prosecute because the photos were not pornographic. I don't know if the US is more lenient than here.

Also, I think the wording needs to be changed so that the general public understands the charge. 'Making indecent images' means downloading them, not being involved with the creation of the original image which of course is much more serious.
