Hang on now, this guy is a tenant.

If the landlord objects to him building big fish ponds then he can't argue.

According to a major national newspaper that is running the same story it appears he did not get permission to build this. They are also under the impression that he is using it to run a business which is why they also declined permission.

He also has a 1 year old child should he not have considered that before building it?

I can’t find it now, but I am sure I have seen this story elsewhere showing, not one pond but a whole string of them such as a retailer would have ....and it does mention in the article about “running a business from the home”. I suspect that the housing association knew blooming well what he was up to but had no proof so they threw everything at it.
Whatever PP says, if an intruder hurt themselves while breaking into your house, I bet if they took it to court, they wouldn’t have leg (ha ha) to stand on.
