This is an odd non-story. Do some people have their sense of humour removed? Sometimes I wonder ............... then wonder some more

She sounds a total joy, but surely she likes sandcastle making and other innocent pursuits. Or maybe not!

Miserable bunch.
I think if the police - who have to deal with the realities of their light-hearted image can enjoy a little levity, then more power to rhem.

I think it's a considerable stretch to think that the model equates to loved ones lost at sea, and an even bigger stretch to miss the irony in the 'murder weapon' being a plastic spade.

Some people really do like to be offended don't they - except as usual, the professionally offended councillor purports to be speaking for others who, it seems, are not sufficiently upset to do it themselves.
Got tea all over the keyboard - look here , they've pixilated out a breast....a sand breast!!

perhaps they'd gone too far and sculpted a nipple

Are we still able/allowed to use the phrase 'black humour' these days.

You are right - there are people going around being offended all the time. If they, themselves, are not offended then they will be offended on behalf of others.....

I am a fat lady (the lady bit is debatable). One day a little girl wanted a book from the shelves of our bookshop. I got it down for her and she walked over to her mum. Her mum asked where she got the book and the young girl said that 'the fat lady' gave her it. Her mum over-reacted and started to chastise the child. I 'am' fat and pointing out the obvious was not (to me) offensive. It all gets terribly complicated.

I am off to read a book - 100 things to do with a dead cat.

Mamyalynne, if that wasn't so pathetic it would be funny.

.... err ... no, it is funny! How daft!!! :o)
Common sense has died, sense of humour is breathing its last, we will soon be senseless.
Vulcan, it hasn't died - it's been murdered!
Some people live to be offended nothing more in life for them

I hope so - black humour is a mainstay of daily life for the response services - it stops them crying all day and all night instead, which would be the alternative - and the default position of the rest of us.
I think it sad that the police felt they had to apologise.
chiaroscuro, par for the course. One complaint and apologies are expected. Crazy society!
I think the police are used to having to apologise for everything in these pc days !!
Well done to the police. I love it.
Following on from Mamya's brilliant picture, is this the next thing we can expect? -

Legs it...
Oi!! That's a liberty - apologise immediately.

Am having that
Ah. Erm. You saw that then. Sorry! ;-)

You will be ;-)
