CrapAtCryptics....he can say what he likes but when he compares the EU with Hitler, he must expect to get some flack.
Cameron must think we are all eejits if he thinks we will believe the obvious garbage he spouts.
"he can say what he likes" - so why should he take flak for expressing a view most people here seem to hold ie that the EU is not good for the Uk - even before the referendum was offered I believed we would be far better off out for a host of reasons.
He isn't getting flack for expressing his opinion about Britain being better off outside the EU CrapAtCryptics.....he has made some nasty and inflammatory remarks comparing the EU with Hitler.

By the way, how do you know what everybody in Britain thinks the EU ?

The Polls have it almost neck and neck. Or did you mean here on AB ?

AB has shown itself to overwhelmingly right-wing, which has always favoured us leaving the EU.
It's out for me. I was always going to vote out but my decision was reinforced by Obama's cynical attempt at blackmail, of which Cameron was undoubtedly the architect.

Curious about Mikey’s comments concerning Hitler, I clicked on the link I provided in the OP and discovered that this morning it leads to a different report from the one I posted last night which was headed 'We Believe Boris': Eu Poll Blow For Pm'. Very odd. However, having read the replacement page I see that Boris actually said "Napoleon, Hitler, various people tried this out [to rule the continent with a single government] and it ends tragically. The EU is an attempt to do this by different methods". Pretty accurate then. I read on to find his critic (but only with regard to Hitler) is none other than that ghastly petulant nitpicker extraordinaire who goes by the name of Yvette Cooper. And here we have Mikey jumping on her bandwagon claiming that his comments were ‘daft and nasty’. The more astute among us recognise that politicians are renowned for taking the public for fools and in some cases they’re right.
Naomi...

Boris's remarks were thoughtless and crass, and entirely unnecessary. There is a perfectly good argument to make for us to leave the EU, but to bring Nazism into the equation smacks of desperation in he LEAVE camp.

Mikey, don’t be ridiculous. He hasn’t brought Nazism into it. He’s simply stated a fact.

And while you’re here, here’s another one at it. Headlines for Hitler - and Napoleon tucked away in the text.

No surprise these people come across as dozily dizzy. Must be all that spinning.
For once I agree with mikey (I don't feel well) He shouldn't have compared the EU to Hitler.
People voted for Hitler.
Naomi....yes, he has brought Nazism into it !

Its quite clear what he meant and it was a very clumsy and offensive attempt to alarm voters.

And if Boris hasn't got enough woes, he now has Farage as a fan !

Mikey, I know you’re renowned for spinning with the best of them but I’m seriously concerned that you might actually believe what you’re saying here.

Svejk, very good. :o)
"Boris was just citing examples or are we saying you cant even say the H word now"

I have already replied on that issue Naomi....yes, of course he can say what he likes, but when he makes crass remarks like this, he must expect to receive some flack, which is what has happened.
How can one discuss the history of Europe, even in the most cursory manner, without mentioning both Napoleon and Adolf Hitler?
To say this is bringing 'Nazism' into the topic is disingenuous and moronic.
To compare the tragedy (Boris' own word) of Hitlers attempt to take over Europe to the EU's is indeed crass and insulting.
You mention morons and...

Mikey, //when he makes crass remarks like this, he must expect to receive some flack//

What is 'crass' about saying that Napoleon and Hitler harboured ambition to rule the whole of Europe from one central government. That's what he said - and he's right. They did.
And.....?
Hitler tried to conquer the whole of Europe by waging war and killing 100's of millions of innocent people. He might have been "voted in" in Germany, but nobody voted for him in Holland, Poland, Norway, etc, etc.

The EU has yet to try to use such methods.
Gullible,myopic,lemming,......brexit
Such methods as voting?
