At last...the truth is out.

Some important points from the above :::

Police failures led to the deaths in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.

Jurors answered yes to the question about whether any police error caused or contributed to a dangerous situation at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final.

The behaviour of Liverpool fans did not contribute to the dangerous situation at the turnstiles.

Retrocop - in reference to the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire's suspension - //Why has this man got to be the scapegoat and fall on his sword.// It is nothing to do with being a 'scapegoat' - it is to do with being head of an organisation which is revealed to have wilfully obstructed the inquest in its investigations, and continued the entire tragic...

You never know, the SY police might have been in thrall to politicians as they were re the Rotherham grooming gangs.
Question Author
Minty....the difficulty that the SYP have now, is not to explain how the disaster happened....all that has come out in the wash, via the Inquest.

No, their problem now is to explain why they still continued to lie, less than 2 years ago, while giving evidence at the Inquest....in other words, they continued to lie right up to the end.

Is it any wonder that the Police in general have lost the confidence of a lot of us.

Crocodile tears now is just not good enough. We keep being told that the Police have changed but have they ? Where is the evidence ?
guilt..pure and simple Mikey....
Question Author
True Minty.
Mikey, and you're not police-bashing? We've already agreed that there were other contributing factors but all of that seems to have gone by the board - again.
Question Author
Naomi....not at all.

The Police don't seem to have learned anything in the last 2 days, if my latest link is to be believed. Mrs May was extremely honest in her recent comments in the HOC,and so have almost everybody else.

According to you, bringing the Police to account is the same as "Police bashing"........it isn't.
Mikey, when you blatantly ignore other contributing factors, it is police-bashing.
police have to be accountable like any guilty party in tragedy...PCC renowned for brushing stuff under carpet..public confidence and support is very low...
stop police bashing mikey ! you naughty boy
we know they did a good job on the day ( yes dont put your glasses on and exclaim what ? )
because our elders and betters tell us so ....
to wit the south yorkshire retired police association
see here

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/28/hillsborough-ex-south-yorkshire-officers-told-they-did-a-good-jo/

I have searched the internet - better people can do than I - and the notice seems to have been taken down before it was sampled/cached ....
murraymints, Of course the police must be accountable - but other contributing factors and those responsible for them shouldn't be ignored.
Question Author
Naomi....you appear not to have studied the verdicts of the Inquest.

Of course, there are other factors, but the Police have had the lion's share of the blame for what happened in April 1989.

What the outcome of the IPCC Report will be, and what the outcome of the criminal investigation, Operation Resolve will uncover, may result in Police Officers being charged with a string of offences, including gross negligence, manslaughter, misconduct in public office, perverting the course of justice and perjury.

So when I, or anybody else mentioned this is the future, it is not "Police bashing"....its commenting on the due process of the law being followed.
MM - accountability

I knew there was a high hurdle to Duckinfield facing charges

( charged before and jury could not reach verdict ... )

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/26/hillsborough-verdicts-police-chief-david-duckenfield-among-key-f/

so it is near to but notquite autrefois acquit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peremptory_plea
Mikey, //Naomi....you appear not to have studied the verdicts of the Inquest. //

I have studied the verdicts - which is how I know you're ignoring any that don't involve the police.
Question Author
Minty and PP....I think I will give up here !
as I have already said caging in crowds not a good idea..but the overcrowding and subsequent outcome was down to police and their decisions on the day...
Question Author
100% correct Minty ! The Police opened that gate.
Mikey - Dukinfield cant be charged with offences over this because he has been charged before ....to put it even more simply

murraymints, this from Mikey’s link. Mikey, take note.

//Defects at the stadium, including calculations over crowd capacity, contributed to the disaster

There was an error in the safety certification of the Hillsborough stadium

Sheffield Wednesday failed to approve the plans for dedicated turnstiles for each pen

There was inadequate signage at the club and misleading information on match tickets

Club officials should have requested a delay in kick off as they were aware of a huge number of fans outside shortly before the game was due to start.//

The police were not wholly culpable.
the police asked for the gate to be opened without due care and consideration....gate not opened..stadium would not have been overcrowded..that's the bottom line

Mikey

//The tragedy resulted in all English football clubs being placed under an indefinite ban by UEFA from all European competitions (lifted in 1990–91), with Liverpool being excluded for an additional three years, later reduced to one,[4] and fourteen Liverpool fans found guilty of manslaughter and each sentenced to three years' imprisonment. The disaster was later described as "the darkest hour in the history of the UEFA competitions".[5]//

//Crocodile tears now is just not good enough. We keep being told that the Police have changed but have they ? Where is the evidence ?//

It would seem that the police are not the only ones who hadn't changed Mikey. The fact that it involves the same English football club twice does cast some relevance on the worst football crowd disasters in history. Ignore that fact if you will and try to convince me that some of the supporters were not contributors to this tragedy .Go off on your tangents about Freemasonry but your blatant bigotry is obvious throughout your OP.
I do not support the Perjury, lies and cover up by the police but the total blame does not lay on their doorstep and you will not admit it.
