TTT...UKIP claimed dozens of seats in the lead up to May 2015, but instead managed to lose one of their only 2 MP's.

However, UKIP allowed the Tories to win in my constituency, for the first time for 100 years, so anything is possible I suppose.

But nobody is holding their breath here.
Mikey, Labour allowed the Tories to win in your constituency. Credit where credit is due. ;o)
Naomi...checked the facts out....Gower.
Will UKIP exist after the referendum?
Hoppy...if the vote is a OUT, than UKIP will cease to have any purpose whatsoever.

Farage has said repeatedly that UKIP has only one reason to exist....to get Britain out of the EU. He uses phrases like "our job will be complete"

So what would be the point in the Party ?
Even if the vote is to remain they will have no reason to exist.

Job done by Cameron.

No UKIP to rob the Tories of votes.
Read UKIPs manifesto.
Hoppy...good point !

Either in or out, its the death knell for UKIP.
david-s....this one perhaps ?
Mikey, you're missing the point. UKIP didn't 'allow' the Conservatives to win your constituency. Labour LOST votes to UKIP.
Naomi..do the maths....The Tories had hardly any increase in their popular vote between 2010 and 2015. All that the UKIP supporters have achieved is a Tory MP. Which may, of course, have been their original intention.

Lets not forget that that is where UKIP was born......as a disgruntled rump of the Tory Party.

All that they achieved in 2015 was a reduction of their own representation at Westminster, from a paltry 2 MP's to an even more useless 1 MP. Big deal !

More wasted votes for UKIP. All fart and thunder but ultimately a disaster for a Party that was "going to break the mould of British politics"
//Lets not forget that that is where UKIP was born......as a disgruntled rump of the Tory Party. //

But in Gower ex Labour voters deserted and voted UKIP. Not Tory lovely boys mind. Haha drivel mikey.
And when TTT the vote is cast and the results are in and UKIP is no more they will (vicious right wing bigots all) vote.........
Togo...I am not arguing with you.

But those votes for UKIP were entirely wasted if a UKIP MP was not elected, in an area that like mine. Some of my neighbours that thought they were doing something clever in voting UKIP are now moaning about all the cuts that the Tories has imposed....more to come according to Osborne.
Mikey, spinning doesn’t change the maths. Tories a slight increase, Labour a fairly substantial LOSS.
//But those votes for UKIP were entirely wasted if a UKIP MP was not elected,//

So by that argument of yours the same could be said for all the labour votes since a labour MP was not elected. In fact from what you say all votes are wasted except for the winner.

What a strange mind you have!
youngmafbog, mikey comes from the school of thought that is convinced, that if 'they' didn't win, then the result doesn't count and will certainly not persuade them to think again.

Question Author
" those votes for UKIP were entirely wasted if a UKIP MP was not elected" - not at all mikey, they gave you and your lucky constituents a lovley Tory MP where as normally you'd expect a dour Labour MP. You lucky lot!
