The shape of things to come ??
Question Author
Belgian asylum minister Theo Francine condemned the riot.

He said: “I find it totally unacceptable that some young Afghans find it necessary to tell Syrian girls to wear a headscarf and that they should not dress like Western girls.

“They come here, they are guests here. We are not theirs. They have to adapt to our rules.”
And they want to come to the UK with an attitude like this.
If they cant accept our cultures and laws, keep them out!!

It makes me wonder about those who attempt to integrate will be attacked by other migrants as in this case.

What hope for full integration?
None
Multi racial experiment, Multi Cultural experiment, and the dream of integration, all failed.
They are not coming to Europe to integrate but for a better life. The mistake European Governments have made is not realising the better life will be on the migrants terms.
I'm sad to say this will only fuel the rise of the right - and for that reason I will be voting to leave the EU
^ Me too !

Vulcan42 > they are not coming to Europe to integrate but for a better life.

Yes, different priorities. Even then some go home because of the weather, food or perceived local hostilities.

So what are they actually seeking?
Perhaps they were under the illusion that on arriving in Europe they would be supplied with nice accommodation fully furnished with a mosque at the end of the street where all women would wear headscarf's

Not that illusory then.
I'm not sure they even know themselves what they are seeking. It seems to be based on the false premise that life in Europe has to be better.

Vulcan42 > It seems to be based on the false premise that life in Europe has to be better.

Is the fear of the unknown any better than fear in their homeland? If one cannot exist peaceably anywhere, what then?
// the false premise that life in Europe has to be better. //

Yes but Europe is simply on the way to the UK and the land of benefits and million pound houses for immigrants.
//I find it totally unacceptable that some young Afghans find it necessary to tell Syrian girls to wear a headscarf and that they should not dress like Western girls. //

Him finding it 'unacceptable' won't stop it.

I think AOG's post says it all....
It seems a long time ago now that I told you all about my daughter being barracked and spat at in the street because she was wearing a slightly-above-the-knee business suit, it wasn't a particularly area. Hope people are beginning to wake up!
