Well I hope you have all signed the petition
I signed it!

I will not sign any petition from 'Change.org' as I have no wish to be bombarded by junk email for weeks to come.
Mrs Cothill is easy meat. She will be another number to add to the “many” illegal immigrants who are thrown out of the country. Far easier to shove her on to a plane than to seek to chuck out the many thousands of young men who stow away in lorries or walk through the Channel Tunnel.

And baz is correct. If she were a 92 year old black woman facing the threat of deportation the usual suspects would be marching up and down outside Parliament by now, petitions delivered to Downing Street, Thespians spouting messages of support at the close of their West End performances.
Been part of changer.org's mail shots for a while now.
Does seem unduly harsh.
Compassion does have a place in laws & rules but it requires someone with sense to make such judgements.

Perhaps the usual suspects ( whoever they are ) can't believe this story - is real .

Afterall , how often do you come across a situation like this , where a white person is being treated this unfairly .
the anti-British are doing Britain down by... er... enforcing British laws, it seems. The bounders!
quite right balders, I made the error of signing one about a year ago, never again.
I've signed.
A stay of execution at least, and not before time.
From Prudie's link.......///[Mrs Cothill] arrived in 2014 on a six-month visitor visa and as her health rapidly deteriorated they applied for her to stay.///

Does that change anyone's opinion on the matter?
the relevant bit in the link may be that she can afford private healthcare and thus won't be one of those nasty migrants coming her to make use of the NHS. Otherwise a lot of people might have to consider their double standards.
It's difficult to understand how anyone could have a view that a 92 year old should be shoved off whatever their colour or financial health or how they got here in the first place.

Is the soubriquet 'The Git' really necessary?
Is "The Daily Mail" really necessary?
...besides, "The Git" is a term of endearment.
People call me "Prancer" (amongst other things).
Most certainly. Where would the News thread be without it?
Except the Daily Mail's interpretation isn't really "the news" is it.
