Silly moo !
Yes, no Free Speech for anyone holding a contrary view.....that's what I say!
She has a view, she was asked what that view was and she gave it. I fail to see an issue here.
Jack, no one is stopping her airing her views, but they don't have to agree with her.
She can always take un bateau for gateau....
Ms Thompson is entitled to her view - it is only because she is Ms Thompson that the rest of us get to read it.

From there, we can either care what she says, or not.
Do you only want citizens who are 'yes' people? Loving your country doesn't mean agreeing or liking it all the time. Criticism can lead to positive change.

Absolutely!

I would entirely agree with Ms Thompson's thumbnail sketch, but that doesn't mean I don't want to live here any more - and I'm sure it doesn't mean that to her either.
// a Cake-Filled Misery-Laden Grey Old Island //

It sounds like a satirical and teasing remark rather than a serious comment. Since when has anything filled with cake been bad?

I assume the attack by the obscure Tory MP, and the OP, is not for those comments, but because they were in support of staying in the EU.

//I would entirely agree with Ms Thompson's thumbnail sketch//

I wouldn't. Nothing cake-filled, misery-laden, or grey that I can see.
Emma who?

Feel free to check out my lunch desert any day, and listen to conversation in my town centre, and look out of my office window - you'll find all criteria fulfilled.
Perhaps you should look at the wider picture.
many of its inhabitants do look cake-filled, it's true (though of course it may be burgers).

As for grey and old - both correct. If she thinks its people are miserable she's probably been reading AB too much.
"Since when has anything filled with cake been bad?"

Gemma Collins?

That's good, coming from the phoney patriot who's perpetually running this country down.
//Since when has anything filled with cake been bad? //

how about bbc1? since when was wall to wall baking competitions a good use of expensive airtime?
'As for grey and old - both correct'. Maybe where you live, but not where I live !!

I repeat, silly moo !

To whom is your post addressed please?
She'd do well to keep her anti British sentiment to herself.

Sanctimonious luvvie.
