If so, they may be the living proof that there's something to this chaps theory. :-)http://www.msn.com/en-gb/weather/topstories/humans-could-evolve-webbed-feet-if-sea-levels-rise-scientist-claims/ar-CCs8ri?li=AA9SkIr

He pulled into a very out-of-the way petrol station....you know the sort....with just two pumps and one of those little wooden shacks.
The elderly attendant filled the car up and Clarkson followed him to the shack to pay.
Clarkson pulled out his wallet and gave the man a credit card. The man studied it very carefully. He then pressed a button on the till and a drawer shot out. He carefully put the credit card into the slot where the 5 pound notes go, and then promptly shut the drawer again, and said "Good Day Sir!"

// In the short term .....how many ABers from Norfolk ??//
and how many can read and type ?
sandy - human evolution is priddy slow - four generation in a century
unlike bacteria - one generation an hour so it is reasonable to see evolution in them under the microscope
so this is unlikely to be as a result of envirnoment and evolution
generically determined disease do arise in small limited populations
and this is said to be where there is fast expamsion of that population and so darwinian pressures DON'T apply ( !!)
This meant to account for the Tay Sachs in Polish Jews who had a pop explosion in the seventeenth centuries
Porphyria in the Dutch population in Sarth Efrica - the carrier is identifiable in Jan van Niekerk passenger manifest 1658
and Ellis van Crefeld syndrome in australian aborigines ( no explosion but pop density too low )
but NOT huntington's chorea in New England ( founder effect )
I 'think' ( hahahaha) that the Norfolk observation is more likely to follow the Ellis model
very technical answer - but the question -why do some diseases persist in populations considering they are SO destructive ? is an interesting one and stretched more intellectually minded people than me
