Looking at her, i suppose hes about as good as she can expect to get..

I don't get it.. Could you explain
At some point in recent history, a "human right" became redefined as, "frankly, anything I want to do".

What is needed is a Statutory Instrument to define our human rights. We need the right to not be tortured, or wrongfully imprisoned, or harshly discriminated against, etc. We don't need the right to take drugs in a country where it's illegal, or to vote when I'm in prison for violating society, or to have twelve children when everyone else has to pay for them.

Sadly, nowadays, we all know that most people (including this lady) only claim a "human right" if they have no logical basis to support what they are asking for.
Hypognosis ...

You might be right.

Although you will appreciate that I only added the explanation about "patronising" for comic effect.

Because it's patronising to feel the need to explain what you mean by "patronising".

But you probably realised that. So maybe I'm being patronising by explaining this?

Thinks, thinks ...
Balders ...

Would it be harsh to say she's not top of the list of women for whom one would go in to bat for the other side?

steg @ 1427, let's have another look shall we?

May be I'm the thick one, but I still don't get it
Why is he about as good as she could expect to get?

I'm afraid I couldn't possibly comment!
@joggerjayne

//
Middle class ... "no effect" on career

Working class ... "devastating effect" on future employment
//

Proof, if any were needed that Britain is openly class-ist. It makes me wonder how much perceived racism is as much about class differences as it about race. (It is a wonder that discrimination cases don't use it as a get-out, since there's no law against class discrimination, ttbomk).

steg @1436,

Are standards really lower North of the Border then?
I wonder if the percentage of people who call themselves "working class" and are actually working is higher, or lower, than the percentage of "middle class" people who are working?
Baldric

I'm afraid I couldn't possibly comment!

Why not?
you commented already
As I understand it, the man and women all have beards north of the border, so there may be a bit of a grey area.

///Why not?

It's not all about you steg, my comment was to JJ, the post above yours!
there ought to be an AB rule that you can't comment on other people's looks unless you post a photo of yourself, preferably one of those mugshots the police take.

The grey areas are only on the older ones

That could cause some confusion JJ.
"I don't get it.. Could you explain "

theres nothing to explain

I hear Littlehampton and Felixstowe are pretty good for fishing trips !
jno ...

Isn't that like saying that football pundits can't say that Chelsea are playing badly this season unless the pundit can play better than any of the Chelsea team?

//Although you will appreciate that I only added the explanation about "patronising" for comic effect. //

I can only applaud the effort at funny bone tickle-age. My posts seldom get any laughs. (sniffle)

//Because it's patronising to feel the need to explain what you mean by "patronising". //

I agonised over posting my response, for exactly that reason.

//But you probably realised that. //

Don't misunderestimate my ignoranitude.

//So maybe I'm being patronising by explaining this?

Thinks, thinks ...//

You'll get stuck in a loop, if you're not careful. Meanwhile, I haven't posted on topic yet. Apologies are due, to aog.

// The grey areas are only on the older ones //

LOL

An obvious gag, but still funny.
